Stylish & Modern
The new Kia Niro Self- Charging Hybrid is made for all those who want to do their bit for the environment without compromising on power or great looks. The combination of combustion engine and electric motor makes for a fun driving experience whilst keeping emissions to a minimum. And it does it all in impeccable style: you’ll notice the sleek front and rear bumper design, complete with the new double arrow-shaped LED daytime running lights, dynamic grille design and distinctive LED rear lights.
The Kia Niro Self-charging Hybrid harmoniously blends the practicality of a crossover SUV with the efficiency of a true hybrid. The result is a roomy, comfortable car packed with technology and high-end features that still delivers a relaxing, fuel-efficient drive. If you want to reduce your emissions and improve fuel economy without sacrificing comfort or changing the way you drive, the Kia Niro Self-charging Hybrid is for you.
The Kia Niro Self-Charging Hybrid employs a parallel hybrid system that switches between petrol and electric power (or uses a combination of both) and charges the battery whenever it can by converting kinetic energy from the Regenerative Braking System.
Because the electric motor can assist with acceleration, there is less strain on the engine. This results in lower emissions. The electric motor can also take over at low speeds – in stop-start traffic in town centre's for example. That means the engine doesn’t have to be running for as long, which results in cleaner air for everybody. The system is seamless and responsive while achieving CO2 emissions as low as 86 g/km.
If you aren’t quite ready to switch to a plug-in vehicle, or don’t have the option of a home charge point, hybrid cars might be the solution you’re looking for. A hybrid car doesn’t require you to do anything different than you would do in a conventional car. The car’s clever electronics take care of how the energy is recovered and used. All you have to worry about is keeping it topped up with petrol.
When space is of the essence, you have plenty of options in the new Kia Niro Self-Charging Hybrid. With the battery smartly stowed under the rear seats, 382 litres is available in the boot. For maximum cargo capacity and flexibility, the rear seatbacks split 60:40 and fold completely flat for 1,380 litres of boot space.
