The New Kia E-Niro
Powerful acceleration. A generous equipment list. Impressive range. It’s little wonder the New Kia e-Niro is WhatCar?’s Car of the Year. The New e-Niro is designed for both urban and long-distance driving and will take you wherever you choose to go. The extensive 64 kWh battery is designed for long-range journeys of up to 282 miles on a single charge. And with a 100kW fast charger it can be recharged from 20% to 80% in just 42 minutes.
Luckily, being kind to the environment is also good for your wallet – electricity is much cheaper than petrol or diesel, so your journey may cost less than a third of what it would in a combustion-engined car. And that’s before you take into account the fact that battery-electric vehicles can also travel in the UK’s new and upcoming Clean Air Zones for free. There are tax incentives too, the New e-Niro is subject to a lower company car BiK tax, which is currently 16%, but drops to 0% in 2020/2021. For home charging, there is a £500 OLEV government grant available to help with the cost of installing a home charge point.
