We know that the quality of your car is all that really matters to you. And here at Lloyd Used Car Centre in Carlisle, Cumbria, our preparation process is all that really matters to us.
Here’s how our 5-step preparation process works: -
Firstly, we will check the vehicle details against the Registration Documents (V5) from the DVLA and then we submit the vehicle for a Confirmation Certificate from HPI, the leading vehicle checking service. An HPI Check will notify us if the car has any outstanding finance, if it has been stolen or written off, or if it has had its identity changed.
Step 1 – Vehicle History, Documentation & Credit Check
As part of our service, we will complete a comprehensive assessment of the overall condition of the car with an Electronic Vehicle Health Check (EVHC). An EVHC is a multi-point check, looking over 25 different categories, including brakes, tyres, steering, suspension etc. The EVHC will advise if the vehicle requires attention and will find problems early to avoid MOT failure and costly repair bills.
Step 2 – Multi-Point Electronic Vehicle Health Check
We ensure that your used car has at least 6 months MOT left on it. Should it be under this, we will put it through an MOT test, a tyre check-up and a service, making any minor repairs that need to be made.
Step 3 – MOT Testing
Based on the vehicle inspection and assessments, we strive to ensure that every vehicle is repaired and prepared to meet mechanical and cosmetic standards. We know that used cars have little chips and scratches, that’s perfectly normal. You expect a few beauty marks. At this stage, we will ensure that there’s no cosmetic damage beyond wear and tear.
Step 4 – Re-Conditioning and Repair
Every car goes through our professional valeting team and the car is cleaned, hoovered, washed and polished inside and out – including the engine bay and the luggage compartment! We want our used cars to look at their best so we will look over the

On the way up to Scotland from Home (Leeds) today my car an X5 decided to throw a wobbler with the ConnectedDrive drive system. Nothing worked. I called David Savage our corporate sales team leader who said call in as I was only one hour away. He and Gary the technical guru had it back to me within 25 minutes all sorted.
