To help you make the switch to electric, the government is taking thousands off of retail prices with an automatic grant. There are also financial incentives available to help you cover the cost of installing a Wallbox charger at home. With these and many other grants and incentives on offer, there’s never been a better time to go electric with your next car.

PLUG-IN CAR GRANT UP TO £3,000.

MINI Electric qualifies for the full Plug-in Car Grant offered by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV). That means the maximum £3,000 has already been deducted from the retail price.

HOME GRANT UP TO £350.

If you have off-street parking, you could also qualify for the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS)². The grant pays 75% towards the cost and installation of a Wallbox charger in your home (up to a maximum of £350).

VEHICLE EMISSIONS DUTY.

Because MINI Electric doesn’t produce any emissions, it means you won’t have to pay Vehicle Emissions Duty (VED) for the first year of ownership. And subsequent years will be charged at much lower rates than for petrol or diesel cars.

0% BIK RATE.

Thinking about MINI Electric as a company car? Those who buy MINI Electric through business enjoy a BIK rate of 0% from April 2020.

WORKPLACE CHARGING.

The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is a government-funded scheme that helps to reduce the purchase and installation cost of workplace charging stations significantly. Find out how your company can apply.
