Lloyd Blackpool & Lytham Festival
Date posted: 8 August 2017
The heavens may have opened over the Green for the closing night of Lytham Festival, but the atmosphere was far from dampened as the 2017 event closed for another year with the West End Proms.
This year’s Lytham Festival has seen tens of thousands of people pack out the Main Proms Arena on Lytham Green to see headline performances from Olly Murs, Hacienda Classical, an array of 80s and 90s pop stars, Madness and the West End Proms show.
Festival organisers Cuffe And Taylor say the event has once again been a huge success welcoming around 60,000 concert-goers along with the many thousands of people who have visited Lytham to be part of the five-day event.
Lancashire’s biggest live music festival secured Lloyd Blackpool as their exclusive Motor sponsor for the eighth year running.
Lytham Festival has steadily grown in popularity since its inception as Lytham Proms in 2010 and this year saw five nights of live music with headline acts all performing in the Main Proms Arena on Lytham Green.
Lloyd Blackpool Head of Business Mark Powell said: “Lloyd Blackpool have been proud and strong supporters since the early beginning of what has now become Lytham Festival."
“We are honoured to be part of a cultural event that brings not only an array of world-renown artists, but also promotes the beautiful town of Lytham with its unique friendly people and mesmerizing coast line.
“Being a family-owned business, we are thrilled to have an opportunity to be involved and help bring Lytham Festival together at the heart of our community.”
Lytham Festival is organised by event promoters Cuffe and Taylor who this year brought headline acts including Olly Murs, Haçienda Classical, 80s v 90s starring The Human League, Midge Ure, Dodgy and more, Madness and a celebration of musical theatre with West End Proms.
Director Peter Taylor said: “Once again, we are delighted to be working with the Lloyd Motor Group and Lloyd Blackpool.”
“Their support for Lytham Festival has been tremendous since the very beginning and it is a pleasure to work with a local company who has always believed in and supported our event.”
Peter Taylor continued: “Lytham Festival 2017 has been tremendous. I am delighted with the success of the event and it never fails to please me just how our audiences react to such an eclectic and varied line up over the course of the festival.”
