The New BMW 5 Series

Bringing together BMW’s heritage of innovation and design excellence to perform stunningly,  on the eye and on the road.

The all new BMW 5 Series has arrived and it's already getting outstanding reviews. The seventh itteration of the BMW 5 Series will have its official launch on 11 February across Lloyd Motor Group's BMW network.

It's faster, lighter and more efficient than before and BMW have added a plethora of cutting edge technology to rival any luxury limousines for comfort, refinement and quality. The BMW team have worked tirelessly to lower the weight (around 100kg less than the old car) and handling of the new model. Combining this with a sophisticated new chassis, the new 5 Series handles like it's smaller counter part - the BMW 3 Series, making it a car for true drivers!

The design mantra within BMW was ‘evolution not revolution’ and you can really see this with the new design. Even when standing still, the BMW 5 Series creates a powerful impression. The kidney grille and LED headlights are directly linked for the first time ever. The low roof line sloping to the rear lends the muscular body an elegant coupé-like silhouette and the broad rear emphasises the high performance capacity.

The new 5 Series comes with various engine options starting with the 520d EfficientDynamics TwinPower Turbo 2.0 litre 4-cylinder diesel engine with a power output of 140 kW (190 hp), accelerating to 62mph in 7.5 seconds. The petrol option starts with the 530i 185kW, 252hp engine hitting 0-62mph in 6.2 seconds, while emitting just 132g/km. The 5 Series comes with the optional 4 wheel drive X-Drive system on both Petrol and Diesel models.

The countless digital services and driver assistance systems of the BMW 5 Series guarantee seamless connectivity with the outside world while their intuitive operation ensures maximum comfort and safety with maximum productivity. Information such as recommendations for the optimum departure time is available outside of the vehicle by iPhone or Apple Watch or in the vehicle via BMW Connected Onboard. You can even use Remote 3D View to see the surroundings of your parked 5 Series from a distance.

The integration of Microsoft Exchange in the car allows emails, contacts and calendar entries to be constantly synchronised with other end devices and worked on directly – even without a smartphone in the car.*

*Requires an active Microsoft Office 365 account to use Microsoft Exchange.

On-Street Parking Information eases the search for a parking spot by supplying a probability display in cities for finding a free parking spot in the street, which appears in the BMW Navigation. By colouring in the streets on the navigation according to probability of parking spaces, the function shows drivers where to search first. This feature will be available late 2017.

The Concierge Service connects the driver to a BMW Call Centre agent at the push of a button. The agent can locate a particular restaurant, the nearest cash dispenser or an emergency pharmacy and send the address details directly to the BMW navigation system.

In addition to this the new 5 Series also sports Driving Assistant Plus, allowing the car to take over those important but monotonous tasks like automated driving in situations such as in traffic jams, slow-moving traffic or on long journeys. Even when changing lanes, you are in good hands.

Tired of struggling to get out of your car in those tight parking spaces? The BMW Remote Control Parking function allows you to get out of your car and then park it via remote control by moving it forward into, or reversing out of, a tight parking space or garage.
