Following the government's announcement on 15 July 2025 of a new Electric Car Grant scheme, Lloyd Volkswagen West Cumbria is excited to support our local customers in making the switch to electric driving.
The new scheme provides valuable discounts for UK buyers purchasing qualifying battery electric vehicles. To be eligible, vehicles must meet specific government criteria, including pricing thresholds and environmental standards.
Here in West Cumbria, we understand the unique driving needs of our community - from navigating the beautiful Lake District routes to daily commutes across our rural landscape.
Volkswagen UK are working with the UK Government to confirm which of our models might be eligible for a discount.
While we await final confirmation of eligible models, Volkswagen UK announced a £1,5001 Volkswagen UK Grant Guarantee. This is only available to Retail customers who place an order for selected ID.3 and ID.4 models between 30th July and 31st August. Customers must take delivery from 1st September.

The Electric Car Grant is a UK Government grant to promote the purchase of certain new electric vehicles. Selected Volkswagen ID.3 and ID.4 models are currently pending eligibility approval for this scheme. If these vehicles are approved and included in the scheme, then customers purchasing a qualifying vehicle will receive £1,500 off the purchase price through the Government grant. For more information on the grant, please visit https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/electric-car-grant-launched. If the vehicles do not become eligible for the Electric Car Grant (if available), then Volkswagen will ensure – through the Volkswagen UK Grant Guarantee – that qualifying customers purchasing selected ID.3 and ID.4 models will receive an equivalent discount of £1,500. The saving of £1,500 will be automatically applied to the on-the-road price on the retail invoice for your vehicle. The Volkswagen UK Grant Guarantee offer is open to retail customers in UK, excluding Channel Islands and Isle of Man, aged 18+. Offer applies only when ordering an eligible vehicle between 30 July 2025 and 31 August 2025 and taking delivery/completing the purchase on or after 1 September 2025. Offer excludes ID.3 GTX, stock units of ID.3 with 77kW batteries and ID.4 Life, ID.4 Style, ID.4 Style Edition, ID.4 Family, ID.4 Max, ID.4 GTX, ID.4 GTX Edition, ID.4 Pro 4Motion. New cars only. Available at participating retailers and to cash purchasers or in conjunction with Personal Contract Plan (PCP) only. Not available with Personal Contract Hire (PCH).
