The Golf GTI EDITION 50 is the most powerful production series GTI ever built – designed for those who don’t just measure performance, but live it. With an exhilarating 325 PS and a top speed of 155 mph, it unleashes pure power and confidence on every road.
 

Exterior:

At first glance, the Golf GTI EDITION 50 makes its exclusivity unmistakable, proudly displaying GTI 50 logos on the rear spoiler and inside the exterior mirrors, complemented by a striking black roof and dark Volkswagen badges front and rear. Adding to its iconic presence are two special paint finishes: Tornado Red – a legendary GTI colour making its triumphant return – and the exclusive Dark Moss Green Metallic, both available as options. These bold hues are paired with 19" Queenstown alloy wheels featuring a red gloss coating and dynamic hub caps. Tinted side and rear windows, black mirror covers, and black tailpipe trims complete the powerful, performance-driven look.

Interior:

Step inside the Golf GTI EDITION 50 and feel the difference. From the moment you enter, exclusive sill panel mouldings with GTI 50 lettering and a rich Velvet Dark trim set the tone. The classic chrome look gives way to Dark Anodised accents on the multifunction sports steering wheel, complete with paddles and a GTI 50 badge. Red safety belts on the front and outer rear seats add a bold contrast, while stainless steel pedals in red/silver and bespoke GTI 50 seat covers complete the interior. Every detail is crafted to celebrate 50 years of GTI performance – with a modern, sporty edge.

Seats:

The premium sport seats provide good support and precise control, even in sporty driving situations. The new GTI 50 seat design is a modern take on GTI tradition. The centre panel features the classic plaid design in a new enlarged form, reduced to an asymmetrically positioned cross that emphasises the car's sporty character. The plaid design is repeated on the seat cushion bolsters as a fine, discreet pattern. The typical GTI colour scheme is refreshed with the addition of a racing green line, rounding off the dynamic look.

IQ.LIGHT

The Golf GTI EDITION 50 offers you IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights, including Dynamic Light Assist. They automatically adapt to the driving situation and precisely illuminate the road ahead without dazzling others. The darkened and illuminated Volkswagen logo sets a further visual highlight, while at the rear the 3D LED tail light clusters with dynamic turn signal lend the special model a striking signature light and distinctive visibility. The darkened Volkswagen logo on the rear further rounds off the sporty design.

Vehicle Dynamics Manager

Precision meets performance with the Vehicle Dynamics Manager. It seamlessly coordinates the front differential lock, XDS electronic differential, and the adaptive dampers of the GTI chassis to deliver perfect harmony – tailored to your chosen driving mode, whether sporty or comfortable. Take control with Driving Mode Selection and the continuously adjustable DCC adaptive chassis. Electromechanical adjustment fine-tunes the suspension for an ideal balance of maximum dynamics and supreme comfort, ensuring every drive feels exactly how you want it.

IDA Voice Assistant

IDA voice assistant enables you to conveniently operate your infotainment system with your voice. For instance, select the correct station, the address book entry you want or a telephone number.

Start the function by saying “Hello IDA” and make the vehicle an intelligent conversation partner. The voice assistant also understands open phrases such as “I'm cold” or “Where can I find Japanese restaurants in Leicester?”. It asks questions and can be interrupted.

In addition, IDA uses digital microphones to recognise whether the driver or the front passenger is speaking, for example to fulfil specific air conditioning wishes. The voice assistant can also be seen visually on the central display and interactions can be tracked using graphics.

A very clever feature: from now on, you can access the artificial intelligence tool ChatGPT whilst travelling – to get more information, do research or simply for your entertainment.

Infotainment

The Golf GTI EDITION 50 makes sure you are well informed, safely navigated to your destination and perfectly entertained while out and about.

Ready 2 Discover infotainment system
With speakers front and rear, the Ready 2 Discover infotainment system provides you with a better sound experience and can be enhanced with useful functions such as navigation, for example. Connect your mobile phone wirelessly via Bluetooth, stream your favourite podcasts and playlists from the Internet and enjoy digital DAB+ reception. You can even charge your laptop via the USB-C ports with a charging capacity of up to 45 W. With the 32.7 cm (12.9 inch) touchscreen, you can use selected mobile phone apps quickly and easily via App-Connect¹.

Digital Cockpit Pro
On a high-definition 26 cm (10.2 inch) display, the optional Digital Cockpit Pro  shows you more than just the current speed. It is freely configurable and you decide what information is important for you: for example, the full view of the navigation map, the song title and much more. 

Discover infotainment package
With the Discover infotainment package, you can jump in and use the navigation system immediately – without any detours. Speakers front and rear provide you with a better sound experience. Connect your mobile phone wirelessly via Bluetooth, stream your favourite podcasts and playlists from the Internet and enjoy digital DAB+ reception. You can even charge your laptop via the USB-C ports with a charging capacity of up to 45 W. With the 32.7 cm (12.9 inch) touchscreen, you can use selected mobile phone apps quickly and easily via App-Connect¹ and enjoy the digital services offered by VW Connect Plus². In addition to the touchscreen, you can also use the smart Digital Cockpit Pro. Along with the speed, you also keep an eye, for example, on the navigation map or the title of the track you’re listening to right now. Set the display very simply as you wish to have it.

The IDA voice assistant ,² enables you to also operate your infotainment system with your voice. From now on, you can access the artificial intelligence tool ChatGPT whilst travelling – to get more information, do research or simply for your entertainment.

A range of additional features are available optionally:

Head-up display
The head-up display projects important information, such as speed, navigation instructions or messages from the driver assist systems onto the windscreen – making them clearly visible in your field of vision.

Harman Kardon sound system
With eight synchronised speakers, the Harman Kardon sound system delivers 480 watts of power and digital 12-channel amplifiers on every seat for ideal surround sound – and also offers precise bass tones thanks to the subwoofer. The system can be operated intuitively via the infotainment system.

Park assist systems

Park Assist Pro
Not only can the optional Park Assist Pro tell you as you pass by whether a parking space is big enough – it can also drive into the parking space for you. Up to a speed of 25mph, it will search for suitable parallel parking spaces – parking bays up to a speed of 12mph. Once you have decided on one of the parking spaces found, you can start the parking process. Park Assist Pro takes over everything for you: steering, acceleration and braking. All you have to do is monitor the parking process. Park Assist Plus can also drive the vehicle out of parallel parking spaces again.



Park Assist Pro also makes getting into and out of the car easier – without having to squeeze into tight spaces. It offers you the option of starting the automatic parking process via the Park Assist Pro app.

Area View
The optional Area View system makes parking and manoeuvring easier for you:

• Four cameras show you a 360° view of your vehicle, kerbs, parking lines and obstacles – clearly arranged on the infotainment display.
• Area View also shows you areas that are outside of your direct field of vision – so you can even see “around the corner”.

Assist systems for more safety

Emergency Assist
If, during a journey, you are unable to steer the vehicle due to an impairment or emergency situation, the Emergency Assist system can recognise this situation. The system will first attempt to reestablish its connection to you. If this is not successful, it will take control of the vehicle and bring it to a standstill to prevent potential accidents or reduce their severity. If you are driving on a motorway, Emergency Assist can use automatic lane change to steer your vehicle onto the hard shoulder and bring it to a halt there.

Front Assist
The Front Assist emergency braking system with pedestrian and cyclist detection can warn you of potential accidents involving pedestrians and vehicles and if necessary, automatically apply the emergency brakes for you.

Exit Warning System
The exit warning system helps you to avoid dangerous situations when exiting your vehicle – it can detect when a cyclist, car or other road user is approaching from behind and warn you before you step out.

Lane Assist
From 40mph, Lane Assist can recognise if your vehicle leaves its lane unintentionally. With corrective steering intervention, it focuses your attention back on the driving situation and keeps your vehicle in its lane.

If you nevertheless go over the lane limit, it will also warn you with a vibration in the steering wheel.
