Chief Financial Officer

At Lloyd Motor Group an exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven and strategically minded Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive team.

This is a pivotal leadership role leading key business functions and supporting growth through acquisitions and strong governance.

Role Responsibilities:

As CFO, you will take ownership of the group’s financial direction while working closely with the Board and senior stakeholders. You’ll lead on funding strategy, regulatory compliance, acquisitions, and central support functions, playing a critical role in shaping the future of the business.

Strategic Finance & Funding

• Lead relationships with key banking and funding partners, and manufacturer finance providers
• Negotiate and manage funding facilities to support growth and long-term strategy
• Ensure a strong and sustainable capital structure across the group

Governance, Risk & Regulation

• Act as Senior Accounting Officer, with responsibility for compliance with HM Revenue & Customs requirements
• Hold FCA SMF16 (Compliance Oversight), ensuring all regulatory obligations are met
• Oversee VAT, Corporation Tax, payroll and property taxes and wider tax compliance, working closely with advisors
• Lead on risk management, internal controls, and group-wide governance

Growth & Acquisitions

• Lead and execute business acquisitions from initial negotiations through to completion
• Work closely with legal advisors, funders, and vendors
• Oversee due diligence (financial, commercial, and property) and post-deal integration

Leadership Across the Business

• Provide strategic oversight of key functions:
  - HR – organisational design, payroll oversight, and people strategy
  - IT – systems, infrastructure, cyber security, and transformation
  - Property & Procurement – acquisitions and supplier strategy
• Build and lead high-performing teams across the group

Stakeholder & Operational Leadership

• Partner with senior leadership and franchise directors to drive performance
• Lead regular finance and operational reviews across the group
• Manage relationships with banks, auditors, advisors, and insurers
• Oversee pension schemes and long-term financial obligations

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experiences:

You’ll be a confident, credible finance leader who can operate at both strategic and operational levels.

• ACA / ACCA or CIMA qualified 
• Proven experience as a CFO, Finance Director, or senior finance leader
• Strong track record in funding, banking relationships, and financial strategy
• Deep understanding of UK regulatory frameworks, including HMRC and FCA
• Experience leading multi-functional teams (finance, HR, IT)
• M&A experience with a hands-on approach to deal execution
• Experience in a multi-site, automotive, or retail environment
• Exposure to manufacturer finance or franchise models
