5. End of Season Finale
-
Any contestant who wins a cash prize during the season will be invited back to CUFC’s final home game to take part in a special finale contest, the “Lloyd Motor Group Crossbar Challenge”
-
Contestants will attempt to hit the crossbar by kicking a football from the halfway line.
-
The order in which Contestants take their attempts will be determined by a random draw conducted by CUFC officials immediately prior to the Contest. This draw is final and binding.
-
Final prizes include:
-
A brand-new MINI Cooper C Exclusive 3 Door (worth over £28,000) for the ultimate winner.
-
-
Only one MINI Cooper C Exclusive 3 Door (worth over £28,000) will be awarded. The first Contestant to successfully hit the crossbar in accordance with these rules will be declared the winner. Once a Contestant has been declared the winner, the Contest will end immediately, and no further Contestants will make their attempts.
-
If no Contestant successfully hits the crossbar, the Contest will conclude without a winner, and no vehicle prize will be awarded.
-
Each Contestant shall have only one (1) attempt at the Contest. Under no circumstances may a Contestant be allowed more than one (1) attempt at the Contest, regardless of the outcome. A Contestant shall not be permitted to take any practice or warm-up attempts prior to or during this event.
-
The Contest must be videotaped. The person operating the video camera must record the spot on the field at which the ball is placed, the ball being kicked, and the flight of the ball towards the posts and the ball finally hitting (or missing) the crossbar.
-
A standard size five football of regulation size and weight must be used for this contest (minimum circumference: 25 inches; minimum diameter: 8.00 inches). The ball must be inflated to the regulation pressure as outlined in the official Football Association rulebook.
-
Regulation Goalposts, as outlined in the Football Association Rulebook, must be used for this competition.
-
The football must hit the horizontal section of the Cross Bar of the Goal Posts only (not the uprights) and show a material change in direction to be considered a successful attempt. That is, the ball must clearly make contact with the horizontal Crossbar. In the event of an inconclusive kick, a third-party verifier will consider the video footage of the event, whereby its decision will then be final. The ball may not bounce before it hits the target. A kicked ball that bounces, deflects or otherwise comes in contact with any object, person or surface prior to hitting the Cross Bar is not eligible to be a winning attempt.
-
Final home game is scheduled on 25/04/26 at 3:00pm, but might be subject to change if the National League amend fixtures.
6. General Rules
-
Contestants may not substitute another person to take their attempt.
-
Contestants are not permitted to take practice or warm-up shots.
-
Contest attempts will be recorded, and the decision of CUFC and Lloyd Motor Group officials is final.
