A very festive MINI visits Lloyd Blackpool

Company News

On Saturday 18 December we had a very exciting guest visit Lloyd Blackpool for a very festive event. A MINI Electric, wrapped in 2,000 smart LED lights, was on a five-week tour of the UK with its creator Nico to spread festive cheer and raise money for three important charities; the MS Trust, Duchenne UK, and Alzheimer’s Society.

The most Northern destination on the tour was Lloyd Blackpool, were Nico and the Festive MINI added an additional great cause and teamed up with Mission Christmas for a very merry MINI convoy.

Mission Christmas is an appeal organised by Cash for Kids which makes sure disadvantaged children wake up to something under the tree on Christmas morning.

On the Saturday, guests and their own MINIs met at Lloyd Blackpool and enjoyed teas, coffees and mince pies, and saw the Festive MINI in action. The 2,000 smart LED lights, that the MINI Electric is wrapped in, are controlled by an iPad which lets users instantaneously change the colours and draw the patterns of the lights.

The Festive MINI then set off to Mission Christmas HQ along with the convoy of MINIs, and a police escort provided by Lancashire Police so that Nico could drive the Festive MINI with its lights on. The MINI convoy also had some very precious cargo in tow as it was delivering all of the gifts donated from the Lloyd Blackpool Mission Christmas drop off point to the HQ.

Arriving at HQ and all gifts delivered, guests were then met by the Mission Christmas team who gave them a tour of how the appeal works.
