On average, a BMW diesel engine emits 20% less CO2 than a comparable petrol engine and independent testing has found BMW to be among the best performing manufacturers in terms of real-world driving emissions.

Our Diesel engines employ two highly effective systems which combine to eliminate up to 90% of nitrogen oxide (NOX) emissions.

1.A diesel particle filter and maintenance-free NOX storage catalytic converter
2.A Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system with BMW Blue Performance
BMW Blue Performance technologies reduce the NOX emissions produced by our diesel engines to an absolute minimum. In addition to the standard diesel particle filter and NOX catalytic converter, our more powerful diesel models also include an SCR system.

• SCR is a cleaning system that uses an odourless AdBlue® solution to chemically convert NOX into harmless nitrogen (N2) and water (H2O).

• As a result of these technologies, independent testing has found BMW to be among the best performing manufacturers in terms of real-world driving emissions.

• BMW Blue Performance technology helps to eliminate up to 90% of emissions, converting them to N2 and H2O.

The importance of the GFV is that it lets you keep your options open at the end of your agreement. Depending on what the actual market value is when you come to change your car next time, you have the flexibility to select from one of the following options:

1.Pay the optional final payment and own your BMW*
2.Part-exchange your BMW and choose another vehicle**
3.Hand the car back***

In both the first two options, if the value of your car is more than what we predicted for you in the GFV, you get the benefit.
If the GFV does not meet the market value, you are protected by the guarantee in the third option, do not have to pay the final payment, and can hand the car back to us. However, your decision will need to factor in any additional charges relating to excess mileage and the condition of your car, which will influence the final market value.

 If you have an older diesel car without the latest technology, now is a very good time to consider changing to take advantage of a stronger market price.

BMW select finance means you do not need to be concerned about what may or may not happen in the future, BMW agree its value today and when you come to change your car next time, you have the flexibility to select from one of three options. If the Guaranteed Future Value (GFV) does not meet the market value, you are protected and do not have to pay the final payment, and can hand the car back to us, taking the gamble out of your purchase

Simply choose a BMW you like and we’ll arrange a finance plan that suits you, taking into consideration the contract length (typically between 24 and 48 months), an estimation of your annual mileage and your deposit contribution. *The optional final payment (together with an option to purchase fee) are payable at the end of the agreement if you decide to purchase the vehicle. We remain the owner of the vehicle during the agreement and we may become entitled to recover the vehicle if you do not keep up your repayments.
**If you part exchange the vehicle for a new BMW, any surplus in the vehicle’s part exchange value over the optional final payment (and option to purchase fee) can be used as a deposit towards a new BMW.
*** If the vehicle’s value is less than the optional final payment, you can hand it back to us without paying the optional final payment. However additional charges may be payable for both excess mileage (actual mileage higher than agreed contract mileage) and vehicle condition (using the standards set by the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association BVRLA vehicle condition guide). If your agreement is regulated by the Consumer Credit Act, this contractual option will be in addition to your statutory right to end the agreement early.
