A Decade of Dedication: Martin Celebrates 10 Years!
This month, we proudly celebrate Martin Wolf’s 10-year anniversary at Lloyd Motor Group. Read on to discover more about Martin's career journey and achievements over the past ten years…

Hello Martin, can you tell us about your career journey with us, from where you started to how you got to where you are today?
Ten years ago in 2015, I applied for a Sales Executive position within Lloyd Jaguar Land Rover. I was lucky enough to be invited to interview stage and quickly realised it was a group interview with about eight other candidates. Some had decades of experience within the motor trade and some were relatively new. I wasn’t successful in this instance but was asked if I would be interested in a vehicle progressor role at Lloyd Honda and I was keen to know more. Photographing cars, managing advertising online and preparing cars cosmetically for sale sounded right up my street and this is where I started.
Motor sales was where I had always wanted to be and in early 2018, I began my new role as Sales Executive within Lloyd Honda. In late 2018, I was invited to work for Lloyd Used Car Centre the same year it had opened. I am still here to this day and can say I made many friends along the way and work with a fantastic team who work together and care about one another.

What has been your standout career highlight from the past 10 years?
The career highlight which stands out most to me was in July 2024, where I sold and delivered 29 used cars. This is my personal record and everything ran smoothly thanks to our team of technicians preparing each car mechanically, valeters cleaning each car on time and admin making sure paperwork is all in order. Not forgetting our vehicle progressor ensuring all vehicles are advertised and visible online.
What do you enjoy most about working at Lloyd Used Car Centre?
I enjoy seeing people’s happiness when they collect their new car and are eager to go for a drive and explore more of their car’s features. There are times parents buy cars as a surprise for their sons or daughters who have recently passed their driving test. It's always exciting seeing their reactions when they think the car they really liked sold to another customer and their parents hand them the keys. But above all, my colleagues and team all have the same goals and attitude and we all get along really well.
What is one piece of advice would you give someone looking to start their career as a Sales Executive?
My advice would be to stick at it and learn as much as you can. Product knowledge is huge and having a personal interest helps greatly. Listening to customers wants and needs and identifying the best solutions for them. Whilst some people know exactly what they want, others have broad requirements which they’re looking to narrow down. Putting yourself in the customer's shoes and understanding individual circumstances is important.
If you could pick one car to do a road trip in, what would you pick and where would you go?
If I had to pick a car for a road trip, previously I would have said something sporty with two seats. I used to own a Nissan 350z GT and loved driving that car long distance. Now I have a family, I’d have to choose something more practical and larger with more space. I’d likely pick the Kia Sportage which I’m driving now! It’s a lovely car and very comfortable.
On behalf of the Lloyd Motor Group team, we would like to congratulate Martin on this incredible milestone and thank him for his continued commitment and passion to his trade.
