Meet Ryan, our Sales Executive at Lloyd Used Car Centre

We are delighted to welcome the newest member of our team at Lloyd Used Car Centre, Ryan Cairns, who has joined the team as a Sales Executive.

Ryan is focused on helping customers find the perfect vehicle to suit their needs, offering expert advice, and ensuring a seamless buying experience. Whether you’re browsing for your next car or looking for guidance on making the right choice, Ryan is on hand to make the process straightforward and enjoyable.

We caught up with Ryan to hear how he’s settling into his new role and to get to know him a little better outside of the showroom…

What does your day to day look like as a Sales Executive at Lloyd Used Car Centre in Carlisle?

Like most people, my day starts with the drive to work. I commute from Dumfries so I set off fairly early to get to work in good timing for our morning meetings with my colleagues and managers. The day to day is never really the same at the Used Car Centre! After the meeting, it's definitely coffee time and plan the day out. Whether that's organising handovers for sold cars, sending walk-around videos of cars to customers, arranging appointments, collecting or taking cars to be cleaned or making sure our cars outside are all priced up and presentable. 

What's your favourite thing about your new role at Lloyd Used Car Centre?

Plenty of things! The enjoyment of coming to work is great and the team is nothing short of great so I would say my favourite thing is the team we have here (coffee machine included).

What advice would you give to someone thinking about starting a career in sales in the Motor Trade?

I have been in the motor trade now for 10 years and my advice to anyone is to enjoy what you do. If you like your cars then even better. You get to meet many people and providing a great service to customers is a great feeling. For a lot of people buying a car, whether used or new, it's the second biggest purchase after a home and making sure their is experience is a good one is always something I have enjoyed. It's a very rewarding career.

What's your favourite way to spend a weekend?

When I'm not working, my time is spent with my two young boys keeping me on my toes, doing fun things with them when they are off school and I'm not working is always a fun time, spending time with family/friends and can't forget watching the football with a pint. I enjoy a strum on the guitar as well. 

What was your first car and what do you currently drive?

My first ever car when I passed my test was a 2002 Ford Fiesta and I currently drive a Kia Sportage as my company car which is a lovely drive with my commute.
