Lloyd Land Rover Carlisle served up a fantastic day of tennis

Company News

On Saturday 10th August, Lloyd Land Rover Carlisle hosted their first-ever Lloyd Tennis Tournament at Eden Lawn Tennis Club, Stanwix.

16 staff members across 4 Lloyd Motor Group Carlisle sites took over all four courts as they battled it out to be crowned the Lloyd Tennis Tournament winner 2025, all hoping to take home the Rosehill Garros Trophy, whilst families and friends supported from the sidelines.

The tournament featured 15 rounds, with each match played as a best-of-five games format — the first player to win three games claimed the victory.

The final match was a Land Rover Carlisle showdown where Used Car Sales Manager, Athon Selmes took on Sales Executive, Scott Reynolds. Unfortunately, Athon was forced to retire his racket mid-game due to an unexpected injury. Giving Scott the well-deserved title of Lloyd Tennis Tournament Winner 2025. Here is Scott proudly accepting the Rosehill Garros Trophy.

The tournament offered more than just a chance to show off racket skills; the tournament proved to be a fantastic team-building opportunity. Staff from various departments and sites got to spend time together in a relaxed and fun environment, strengthening relationships and reinforcing the strong team culture that Lloyd Motor Group is known for.

The tournament also went hand in hand with Land Rover UK's official partnership with Wimbledon, aligning the local event with one of the most prestigious tennis tournaments in the world. It was a fitting tribute to the brand’s commitment to performance, precision, and excellence — both on and off the court.

With the success of this first tournament, plans are already being discussed for a bigger and even better event in 2026.
