Lloyd Land Rover Newcastle Takes on The Big Hike to Support Cash for Kids

Following a successful Mission Christmas campaign in December, Lloyd Land Rover Newcastle was proud to continue its support for Cash for Kids — with Lloyd Motor Group sponsoring the t-shirts for The Big Hike, a challenging 20km fundraising walk, and six colleagues from Lloyd Land Rover Newcastle taking on the route.

Last week, six colleagues from Lloyd Land Rover Newcastle took on the demanding route, tackling steep inclines reaching heights of up to 1,000ft, completing the hike in under eight hours. Both the event and its participating team highlight the retailer’s commitment to supporting meaningful community initiatives. 

Beginning at Walltown Country Park, the route showcased the rich natural beauty and heritage of Northumberland. Trekkers journeyed through striking valleys and rugged fells, passing notable landmarks steeped in North East history. These included Housesteads Roman Fort and the iconic Sycamore Gap, alongside scenic locations such as Crawfield Quarry, Steel Rigg, and Crag Lough. Walkers also experienced some of the most remarkable uninterrupted stretches of Hadrian’s Wall, making for a truly memorable challenge.



Cash for Kids, the official charity of Bauer Media, is dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. With its “Raised Local, Stay Local” ethos, funds go directly to supporting local communities in need. Last year alone, the charity supported over 540,000 children, helping to provide vital resources and opportunities.

By taking part in The Big Hike, the Lloyd Land Rover Newcastle team was not only pushing their physical limits but also making a meaningful difference to young lives across the region.

"We were incredibly proud to have supported The Big Hike by having six of our colleagues take part in the 20km challenge. It was a great experience and the team embraced what was a tough but rewarding day. Cash for Kids does fantastic work supporting disadvantaged children in our communities, and this is a meaningful way for us to give something back.
