Jess and Ata with our Lloyd Land Rover York team.
This partnership sees Lloyd Land Rover York sponsor both York RLFC squads: The men’s Knights team, and the women’s Valkyrie team. Both professional rugby league teams of York RLFC play their home games at York Community Stadium.
As part of the partnership, their VIP Match Day car park will be renamed as the “Lloyd Motor Group VIP Car Park”, and our Club Car will be parked at the stadium entrance on match days.
“The partnership between Lloyd Land Rover York and York RLFC represents an exciting milestone as we work together to support our local community. With our recent growth at Lloyd Land Rover since our takeover in 2021, we are excited to be able to be supporting our local professional rugby league team. Our partnership with York RLFC is a significant step forward for our journey, and we feel privileged to be able to contribute to the success of such a fantastic local club and wish both the York Knights and York Valkyrie the best of luck for the upcoming season. We eagerly look forward to growing this partnership and are honoured to be a part of York's thriving community”.
David McIntyre, Head of Business at Lloyd Land Rover York
"York RLFC are elated to have Lloyd Land Rover York as a Key Partner for the 2024 Season and beyond. Lloyd Motor Group have been wonderful to work with throughout the process and I can only see our partnership going from strength to strength".
York RLFC Club Chairman, Clint Goodchild
This partnership comes at a significant time for Rugby League - At the end of the 2024 season, Rugby League will undergo a revolution, with promotion and relegation becoming a thing of the past. Instead, the league will transition to a franchise-style competition through a grading system. As part of this, York RLFC will score in within the top 12 teams in the league, which will place them in the top tier of the sport from 2025.
We’re thrilled to be partnering with the teams during this exciting time. Next time you’re heading to a match, keep your eyes peeled for our Club Car parked at the entrance of the stadium!
