Lloyd MINI Local Influencers: Boxed Fresh gets 'en-root' with the MINI Electric

Company News

Boxed Fresh are a plastic free fresh fruit and veg box local delivery service covering Cumbria, their routes include; Carlisle, Penrith, Wigton, Cockermouth, Whitehaven, Brampton, Keswick, Kendal and Grasmere. The team recently took part in the Lloyd MINI Local Influencers series, delivering boxes to workplaces and homes in a MINI Electric.

The local influencers series sees local companies experience and share with us what making the switch to electric driving is really like, read Boxed Fresh’s feedback below.

How did you find the range of the MINI Electric?

Although the MINI electric doesn’t have a wide enough range to complete a full run of deliveries to our customers, it certainly enabled us to deliver to some of our regulars who we like to visit. This includes some local business who receive weekly deliveries for their staff.

What did you think of driving the MINI Electric?

We were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed the MINI electric experience. It was not only comfortable with impressive interior; it was easy to drive too. Additionally, we were also impressed at how spacious the MINI was, which certainly assisted when delivering to our customers.

How easy did you find charging the MINI Electric?

Charging the electric MINI was extremely simple, we even managed to plug it in at home when a charging point wasn’t available. We were impressed at how small the fee was to fully charge the MINI, compared to the ever-increasing cost of fuel.

Do you think you’ll be making the switch for your next car?

At Boxed Fresh we are constantly looking at new ways to reduce our carbon footprint. Many of our customers appreciate our initiative to ‘go greener’, particularly the minimal amount of plastic that we use. Therefore, we are always looking at new ways to reduce our carbon footprint and what better way to do so than to go electric.
