Lloyd MINI Local Influencers: Inter Fresh assess if the MINI Electric delivers

Company News

Fresh produce suppliers, Inter Fresh, recently took to the roads of Cumbria and the Lake District in a MINI Electric as part of the Lloyd MINI Local Influencers series. The local influencers series sees local companies experience and share with us what making the switch to electric driving is really like.

Inter Fresh supply quality, fresh produce to restaurants, hotels, pubs, care homes, retail stores, and multiple food service outlets throughout Cumbria and South Scotland. They pride themselves on the relationships they have with suppliers and growers, sourcing produce fresh every day, and the relationship they have with their customers. This unique offering means that it’s vital that the team can get out and about efficiently to visit both their customers and suppliers.

Following a week of putting the MINI Electric through it’s paces, the team from Inter Fresh gave us feedback on the car and their electric experience.

How did you find the range of the MINI Electric?

Prior to experiencing the MINI electric, our sales team were slightly apprehensive about the available range when visiting customers in the area. However, we were pleasantly surprised that we were able to travel over 80 miles before stopping at an electric point.

What did you think of driving the MINI Electric?

The electric MINI offered a smooth drive, and the transition from our usual fuel cars to an electric car was much easier than expected.  In fact, we couldn’t believe how much ‘GO’ it had!

How easy did you find charging the MINI Electric?

The charging cables which were provided with the electric MINI were straightforward to use. We realised that many of our customers in and around Cumbria have charging points installed on site, this was great for our sales team and allowed them to charge the MINI whilst attending a meeting.

Do you think you’ll be making the switch for your next car?

Switching to an electric MINI wasn’t something we thought would be possible as a fruit and vegetable wholesaler, distributing produce and visiting customers across Cumbria. However, after experiencing it first-hand, we realised that the range gets you a lot further than we initially thought, and the car itself has all the elements we need. Furthermore, they’re much more cost effective compared to the fuel cars our sales team currently drive, which can only be better for business.
