Meet Pippa Haigh, the Used Sales Manager at Lloyd Ripon.

At just 29, Pippa Haigh has already celebrated a decade in the automotive industry, carving out an impressive career as a woman in a traditionally male-dominated field. After always dreaming of owning a Land Rover, she now helps others bring that same dream to life.

We sat down with Pippa to learn more about her journey, her love for the Land Rover brand, and her advice for others looking to break into the industry. Keep reading to discover more about Pippa!

What first sparked your interest in the retail motor trade?

"I loved the Land Rover brand. I always aspired to own a Land Rover from a very early age. People say my blood runs green. It is a very infectious brand with a huge amount of heritage and achievements that I am proud to be a part of. My 17th birthday cake was actually a Range Rover Sport!"

What drew you to become a part of the Lloyd Motor Group? 

"In an ever-growing world of PLCs and American dealer groups it is rare for a family-owned and -run group to sustain themselves, Lloyd Motor Group is a testament to this and hold a very high reputation in the automotive industry for both customer and employee satisfaction."

How do you and your team help clients find the right used vehicle for them?  

"By listening, having a lot of time and pateince for the purchasing journey and to really understand the customer's needs. Our team are extremely experienced with a wealth of knowledge for the product which provides an advantage to our customers."

What do you enjoy about most about working with Jaguar Land Rover customers? 

"The brand appeals to a wide variety of life experiences and lifestyles that can walk through our doors at any given moment. It allows you to meet people and gain experiences off which you would otherwise never have the opportunity to do so, which I find inspiring."

In your opinion, what makes Jaguar Land Rover stand out as a luxury brand?

"The sophisticated design and attention to every tiny detail mean nothing goes unnoticed and everything is unmistakably refined."

As a woman in a leadership role within the automotive industry, what has your experience been like, and what have you learned along the way?

"I was very young and inexperienced when I embarked on my journey, there has been many learning curves and I'm sure these will continue through my career. It has taught me to be tough, resilient and relentless, as I have had to hold my own especially as a woman in a male-dominated industry. Over the years I have won multiple awards and reached many career milestones, this has been down to an endless amount of hard work, time and dedication but also from support and time from those around me of which I am extremely grateful of. Teamwork is key in the Sales Department!"

What advice would you give someone, especially young women, looking to pursue a career in the automotive industry?

"The industry has drastically and positively changed over the past 10 years, there are far more women involved in all departments across retailers which is great achievement. It is a limitless industry with a huge amount of reward and progression if you are ambitious. I have strived to always carve a path that celebrates dynamic, strong and talented people in my career, in-particular I am very passionate about this when it comes to women. Having won a Barclaycards International Woman of the Year award at 25 I am an advocate of the need to be constantly developing and moving forward to help the next generation step up and into the best version possible."

Do you have a favourite Jaguar or Land Rover model?

"Range Rover Sport, every time!"

What's something people might be surprised to learn about you?

"I rode horses from a toddler and successfully competed internationally up until I was 18, winning a Silver medal for Team GB."
