Celebrating Success: Sam Kenny Passes His Bodyshop Apprenticeship
This week at Lloyd Bodyshop Carlisle, we celebrate Sam Kenny’s fantastic apprenticeship pass.
If you’ve visited our Lloyd Carlisle Bodyshop, you’ll likely know Sam for his enthusiasm, positive attitude, and dedication to his craft. From day one of his training, it was clear Sam had a passion for the trade and a drive to develop his skills to an exceptional standard.
Opting for a Paint Technician Apprenticeship, he was able to earn while he learned, gaining hands-on experience in our busy workshop environment while working towards his qualification.
We caught up with Sam to reflect on his apprenticeship journey…
What were your day-to-day responsibilities as an Apprentice Paint Technician?
“Every day is different in our workshop, but my main responsibilities included maintaining health and safety protocols and keeping the mixing room clean and organised.”
What support has been available to you during your apprenticeship?
“I feel incredibly grateful – the whole team at Lloyd Bodyshop has been supportive throughout. They were always happy to answer questions or offer advice to make sure every job met the standard our customers deserve.”
What is it like to be part of the Lloyd Bodyshop Carlisle team?
“Lloyd Bodyshop Carlisle genuinely feels like one big family. Everyone works together and supports each other to ensure the job is done and to an exceptional standard.”
What is your favourite project you’ve worked on?
“I had the privilege on working on the late Bryan Lloyd’s beloved Porsche 911 gt3 rs. That was a particularly proud moment for me.”
What is your most valuable skill/attribute you feel you’ve learnt?
What advice would you give someone considering a Bodyshop apprenticeship with Lloyd?
“Go for it! Apply yourself, be open to learning, and believe in yourself.”
What’s next in your Bodyshop journey!
“Now that I’ve completed my apprenticeship, I’m excited to see where my career can go. I’m also looking forward to mentoring the next generation of apprentice technicians and passing on what I’ve learned – it feels very full circle.”
