Dawn Carter Celebrates 10 Years at Lloyd South Lakes BMW

This month marks a significant milestone for Dawn Carter, who celebrates 10 years as a Sales Administrator at Lloyd South Lakes BMW. Known for her reliability, attention to detail, and unwavering commitment to customer service, Dawn has been a vital part of the team.

Tell us a bit about your career here at Lloyd Motor Group.

"I started with Lloyd South Lakes BMW back in 2015 as a Sales Administrator for MINI. In 2022, we amalgamated the BMW and MINI sales admin teams, and I stepped into the role of Senior Sales Administrator, overseeing both brands as well as the Select team. Most recently, in June this year, I was proud to accept the position of Office Manager for Admin & Accounts. It’s been a journey of growth, learning, and taking on new challenges with each role."

Talk us through a typical day in your role.

"There’s honestly no such thing as a “typical” day! Every day brings something different, whether it’s problem-solving, supporting the team, or working closely with other departments."

What advice would you give to people who are just starting out on a career in the motor trade?

"Learn as much as you can, and don’t be afraid to ask questions. There’s a huge amount of experience across Lloyd Motor Group, and people are always willing to share their knowledge. Take every opportunity that comes your way and focus on becoming a strong team player!"

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

"Communicate because it’s absolutely vital."

What is your favourite thing about working for Lloyd Motor Group?

"Without a doubt, it’s the people. The team here is incredible and everyone is working towards the same goal, and that shows in all the little things. There’s a real sense of unity, and even across the wider group, the relationships between sales admin teams are genuinely strong and supportive."

How does Lloyd Motor Group differ from anywhere else you’ve worked?

"It comes down to the sense of family and friendship. People genuinely care about one another here. I’ve never worked anywhere before where colleagues choose to spend time together outside of work."

What do you enjoy most about the brands you represent?

"The pride that comes with representing BMW and MINI. They’re prestigious, iconic brands, and it’s great to be part of something that customers are genuinely passionate about."

And finally… what’s in your top drawer?

"It’s probably not as exciting as you'd hope! Like most Sales Admin drawers, it’s very organised... key fobs, paper clips, and plenty of pens."
