Kyle Thompson Celebrates 10 Years at Lloyd South Lakes BMW

This month marks a significant milestone for Kyle Thompson, New Car Sales Manager, who celebrates 10 years at Lloyd South Lakes BMW. Known for his exceptional customer service, sales expertise, and genuine passion for helping customers find their perfect vehicle, Kyle has been an integral part of the team.

What has been your career highlight from the past 10 years?

"There have been so many great days and team-building events, but I'd have to say driving a BMW X7 & BMW Z4 M40i around Lake Como for a launch preview is right up there!"

What advice would you give to people who are just starting out on a career in the motor trade?

"There's something for everyone, so I would just say go for it. Especially with a family-owned business like Lloyd Motor Group, which is expanding and creating more opportunities. As long as you're willing to put in the effort, Lloyd Motor Group will give you the tools to succeed. I relocated over 10 years ago and it's the best decision I've made."

What do you enjoy most about working at Lloyd South Lakes?

"It has to be the people. After nearly 20 years in the motor industry, speaking with our customers is still the best part of my day. We have a great team here at South Lakes across all departments and we genuinely try to help each other, which is rare in my experience."

What have you made of the electrification of the BMW range? Do you have a favourite model?

"I've had the pleasure of driving the BMW iX for the last 2 years, so this is my current favourite. However, the new iX3 launching in February 2026 has everyone excited, so I may change very soon! I've driven many petrol and diesel cars over the years, but after a few weeks of driving electric, I love how responsive they are, and it would be hard to go back. Charging is easy and it saves being cold and wet waiting at the pump!"

What has been your favourite car over the last decade?

"I've had the pleasure of driving some amazing cars. The electric iX I drive now in the lovely Dune Grey offers everything I need and more. The SUVs are always nice in this area, although my daughter would be happier if I drove a convertible! An X6 in Manhattan Green and a 7 Series in Donington Grey also stand out as huge favourites."

Finally, what's in the top drawer of your desk?

"A photograph of my daughter & plently of coffee pods!"
