Lloyd BMW Carlisle announce Carlisle Foodbank Partnership

Lloyd BMW Carlisle proudly announce partnership with Carlisle Foodbank.

 
With the cost of living rising, the local community are seeing an increase in the number of people turning to foodbanks and therefore Lloyd BMW Carlisle are delighted to announce their partnership with The Carlisle Foodbank.
 
Established in April 2012, Carlisle Foodbank is an amazing community run charity aiming to provide 3 days emergency food for people in crisis. Based in the heart of Carlisle, the charity consists entirely of volunteers who dedicate their own time to receiving, preparing, packing and delivering daily parcels to those in need. Last year alone, the charity delivered over 11,000 food parcels to those in need in the local area, displaying how important and fundamental a charity like Carlisle Foodbank is. Trying to break away from the stigma of a "hand out" but rather a hand up for those who need it the most.
 
Some of the team at Lloyd BMW Carlisle were invited down to see first-hand, the day to day work of the charity and how the operation works. Manager Steph Humes took the team on a tour around the amazing facility.
 
Catering for people of all ages and circumstances, the Foodbank categorise and label all donations, helping to make all products easily accessible during the packing process. This helps to ensure that every parcel includes the essentials those individuals may particularly need and to make them as varied as possible. They even consider those with dietary needs such as gluten, vegetarians and vegan.
 
From the initial drop off to seeing the finished parcels, it is clear how dedicated and passionate the team are about helping their local community. There is a real sense of community spirt and In the spirit of giving, the team at Lloyd BMW also donated a selection of easter eggs to be distributed in parcels over the easter period. We hope to bring a little joy to people during this difficult time.
 

For every customer who completes a BMW customer survey, we will donate £1 to Carlisle Foodbank on your behalf. The charity rely heavily on donations of time, money and food to remain operational so all donations are welcome.
 
If you would like the opportunity to support Carlisle Foodbank as well as your survey, the charity regularly advertises all upcoming fundraising events on their website. The latest being a sponsored walk around Ullswater on the 11th May. Everyone is welcome and you might even see a few familiar Lloyd BMW faces.
