Lloyd BMW & MINI South Lakes are proud to continue their valued partnership with Bay Search and Rescue — a remarkable local charity whose dedication and expertise help keep our community safe.
Lloyd South Lakes Strengthens Partnership with Bay Search & Rescue
Founded in 1999 and based in Flookburgh, Bay Search and Rescue is a highly skilled volunteer team working tirelessly to address the unique challenges of the shifting sands and fast-moving tides of Morecambe Bay. Operating in one of the UK’s most demanding coastal environments, the team specialises in safely navigating the bay’s unpredictable terrain and rescuing those at risk — whether individuals, families, animals or vehicles — often against the clock before the tide returns.
Today, their support extends far beyond the bay itself, with call-outs across South Cumbria and North Lancashire. As a fully independent charity, their ability to respond depends entirely on the generosity of donations and community partnerships.

As part of our ongoing commitment, we pledge to donate £1 to Bay Search and Rescue for every BMW or MINI customer survey completed.
The team were delighted to recently welcome Station Officer Gary Parsons to the showroom, arriving in their iconic Hägglunds BV206 all-terrain rescue vehicle — an 18-seat, fully customised personnel carrier equipped to operate in the most challenging conditions.
General Service Manager Mike Hadwin presented a donation of £1,179, raised through completed customer surveys. Every pound will directly support the charity’s vital operational work.
Mike Hadwin commented:
“We are delighted to continue our support for this incredible charity. Bay Search and Rescue provides an essential service to our region, and we look forward to finding further opportunities to raise awareness and contribute to their outstanding work within our local community.”
