Meet Norman Fraser, our new Head of Business at Lloyd Kelso
Lloyd Land Rover Kelso are delighted to introduce their new Head of Business, Norman Fraser.
Norman has arrived with a of wealth of experience in the motor industry, and a passion for delivering top-notch customer experiences and is set to lead the dealership into a new era of growth and innovation.
Norman brings a dynamic background to his role, having held key leadership positions in various prominent Automotive Groups. His comprehensive understanding of the industry and customer-centric approach align seamlessly with the values of Lloyd Motor Group, making him an ideal choice to steer the dealership's future endeavors.
We caught up with Norman to discuss his career and why he is excited to work for Lloyd Motor Group.
Tell us a bit about your background.
How long have you been in the motor industry? I have worked in the industry for 37 years – starting out as a Sales Advisor then progressing to Sales Manager and then Operations Director for various Motor Groups. I am delighted to take on the role of Head of Business at Lloyd Kelso, I am really impressed with what I have seen so far!
Tell us a bit about your Career Development: I started out in at totally different industry and trained as a Quantity Surveyor in a Civil Engineering company and then worked in the Oil & Gas industry, ultimately as a Management Consultant, including a year in India, prior to joining the Motor Industry.
What attracted you to work in the automotive industry? Having a young family working abroad became less attractive so a job at home fitted the bill and working in this industry was an attractive option.
Why did you want to work for Lloyd Motor Group?
I have spent most of my working life either being away from home or enduring long commutes, so this is my dream job! I live in Kelso, so now I have a 5-minute commute from the house to my office plus working for a prestigious local company with such a great reputation for outstanding customer service. Their ethos of ‘customer first’ strongly aligns with mine, this is how I know I will enjoy working here.
What is your favourite thing about the brand?
This is my second time working with the Land Rover brand after working with a Group over in Belfast and I am always enthralled by the superb kerb appeal and driving experience of our products plus the incredible brand loyalty shown by Land Rover customers.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
My big passion is supporting Glasgow Rangers and I have been a season ticket holder for over 40 years! And the best bit is my 13-year-old granddaughter has been a season ticket holder since she was 4 and has been to over 200 games with me! During our journeys back and fore to Glasgow she has significantly altered my taste in music, Dolly Parton and the Proclaimers have been nudged aside by the Arctic Monkeys and Harry Styles.
Tell us 3 facts about yourself:
I was born in the Highlands of Scotland - I have lived in the Scottish Borders for 31 years - I have read over 300 books since the first Covid Lockdown.
What are you looking forward to getting your teeth into first at Lloyd Kelso?
What I have noticed in the first couple of weeks here is that the staff all have delivering a great Customer Experience at the heart of what they do. They have all been fantastic. However, in order to take this to the next level I want to recruit several additional staff. So, I am currently looking for a Front of House Manager and Technicians at various levels. These additional, skilled staff will help reduce customer wait times to have their vehicles serviced or repaired. I am also keen to hear from any other skilled, automotive professionals who believe they can help the team in Kelso deliver on the full potential of our business.
