Apprenticeship Programme at Lloyd Motor Group
It's National Apprenticeship Week and today is #AskAnEmployer day!

We asked Emma Lindsay about the advantages of an Apprenticeship at Lloyd Motor Group and why she is such a great advocate of the scheme.

Emma is the Aftersales Manager for Lloyd Jaguar Land Rover, Volvo and Kia and has worked in the motor industry for over 12 years. She started as a Graduate Trainee in a car retailer and has been at Lloyd Motor Group since 2015, so we thought she would be perfect to answer some questions.

Here's what she had to say...

How many Apprentices are there currently across the group?

"Across the group we have 52 apprentices in our workshops, parts and service teams, not to mention the majority of Lloyd qualified apprentices over recent years still working with us today."

What kind of roles are available through Lloyd Apprenticeship Programmes?

"We offer a range of different roles through the apprentice program from customer service, parts, admin and workshop roles, however as our business evolves we are constantly looking at all opportunities across each department."

Is Lloyd Motor Group a company that encourages and supports career progression?

"Yes, in fact most of our Aftersales Management Team are Lloyd employees who started their career with us in both apprentice or trainee roles and have evolved with the business into the position they are today. Since joining Lloyd Motor Group in 2015, I have progressed twice thanks to Lloyd and the support and training they have given me throughout my career."

What are the advantages of an Apprenticeship with Lloyd Motor Group?

"At Lloyd we invest in the future and understand the importance of growing our own within all departments of the business including customer service and parts, not just the workshop. We see each employee for the individual they are and work with them on a personal monthly development plan to support in areas of interest or where they need additional training.

In today’s market, Electric Vehicles is the future and we are looking to develop our next generation of technicians to be experts in this innovative technology. In our workshops today, our technicians work on a range of these models including I-PACE, i8, EV6 and C40 with revolutionary over air updates and diagnosis constantly evolving."

Have you got any advice for young people looking to start an Apprenticeship with us?

"An apprenticeship is a fantastic way of learning new skills beyond the classroom. Nothing beats the practical learning environment and the years of knowledge our team around them has to offer. Starting as a trainee myself, I would not be in the position I am today without it."
