A new role within the Group for Tom Johnston!

We’re delighted to welcome Tom Johnston, our new General Sales Manager, to the team. Although Tom has worked with Lloyd Motor Group for 12 years, he has just recently joined us here at Lloyd Kia Carlisle, so we caught up with him to get to know more about him…

How long have you worked in the motor industry for?

I started working in the motor trade in 2008 as a Business Manager, before I started my career in the motor industry, I worked for the Royal Bank of Scotland. 

What do you like about working for Lloyd Motor Group?

From Senior Management to front-line staff, you really feel that it is a family-run business. I’ve been with the company for 12 years and throughout that time, that feeling has never changed. 

Your job title is General Sales Manager, what does this entail?

My main responsibility is overseeing the running of the Sales department. I work very closely with the New and Used Sales Managers as well as with the sales team, to make sure we can provide excellent service to all customers. 

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I have three daughters, so I make the most of spending time with them and my wife. I also am a keen golfer so I try to get on the course when I can. 

What is the best advice you've been given? 

Never stop learning and growing as a person. 

What is your favourite Kia and why?

The Kia Sorrento - perfectly fits car seats as well as golf clubs!
