Lloyd Blackpool Support Cash For Kids Day 2023 by Dressing Like a Popstar

Company News

Thursday 27th April 2023 saw the return of Cash for Kids Day, a day dedicated to fundraising and raising awareness of the charity that helps support disadvantaged children in the local area.

This year, all donations from Cash for Kids Day are funding Cost of Living Grants to ensure children have the basics like food, heating and electricity, clothing, bedding and toiletries. Rock FM were very happy to announce on the Breakfast Show, which is proudly sponsored by Lloyd Blackpool, that the total amount raised in Lancashire for Cost of Living Grants since the start of 2023 has exceeded over £60,795! An amazing £35,795 has been raised from Cash for Kids Day so far this year and 716 children in the local community from will be helped because of it.

This years theme was ‘dress like a popstar’, and, like every year, the team at Lloyd Blackpool fully embraced this by digging out the wigs, fake tattoos (and even the boot polish and hoover!) to join in with the fun.

And that’s not all, Lloyd Blackpool took to the roads in their Cash for Kids Day branded cars, a BMW X5 and a MINI Electric, to chauffer the team from Cash for Kids Lancashire around the local area so they could personally thank their biggest supporters in person.

The tour started at Lloyd Blackpool with a little celebration breakfast before heading out to the first stop, Hillside Specialist School. Hillside Specialist School are dedicated fundraisers for the charity and always get involved in numerous school challenges. On arrival at the school, the cars were welcomed with balloons and inflatable guitars decorating the grounds before experiencing a parade that could give the line-up of Glastonbury a run for it’s money!

Next, it was on to the Lawrence Hunt Spar in Longton. The team there are long-standing supporters and have raised almost £50,000 since 2018.

Hickory’s Hutton was next on the agenda, the team at Cash for Kids wanted to visit Manager, Steven, and bar tenders Abi and TJ to celebrate the £760 they raised from their Easter Raffle. Hickory’s are close to reaching an incredible £500,000 fundraising total in their support of Cash for Kids as a charity.

After a quick lunch stop, we were off to Bamber Bridge to meet the team at Back Care Solutions. Back Care Solutions are long standing supporters – with the most recent being the Cross Bay Walk from Morecambe to Grange over Sands on Saturday 29th April.

The final two stops were in Preston centre. The first being Farleys Solicitors who were presented with a huge cheque of £7,645 which was raised during their St Patricks Event, then it was on to Service Care Solutions who were also presented with a huge cheque of £1,260 which was donated through their employee poker chip scheme.

Rock FM Cash for Kids is a grant-giving charity helping the children that need it most across Lancashire.

Their mission is to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in the local communities who are affected by illness, poverty, neglect or have additional needs. They believe that all children should be able to express their individuality, achieve their potential and live life to the full.

They work with local grassroots organisations across the region that aim to make a difference to young lives, and directly support families who often have nowhere else to go through the regular grant rounds.

Lloyd Blackpool have been proudly supporting Rock FM Cash for Kids for over 8 years.
