Lloyd Colne Spread Christmas Cheer at local Dementia Group Christmas Concert

Company News

This Christmas, the team from Lloyd Colne has lent a hand at the Christmas Concert organised by two grassroots local Dementia groups – Butterflies Café, and Dementia Positive Pendle.

We first become involved with the groups after our MINI customer, June, approached us hoping to forge a new friendship between her group, Butterflies Café and our Lloyd Colne team, with the intentions of raising awareness of Dementia in our local community and to support her group with resources and volunteering to assist them in helping families living with Dementia and similar issues in the local area. The group was set up by June, in partnerships with local NHS workers Pam and James.

The concert was a great success, with a line-up of local artists singing Christmas songs and classic tunes enjoyed by many of the older attendees. There was also a successful prize raffle, pie and peas from local staple Diane’s Catering, and festive props for fun photographs, taken by Lloyd Colne’s Digital Merchandiser.

“Dementia Positive Pendle is all about people from all walks of life working together to make Pendle a better place” for those living with Dementia and their loved ones. The concert came about through Dementia Positive Pendle, which is a group of people from the Pendle area with an interest in improving / raising awareness of Dementia and supporting People and families living with Dementia.”

“We held a couple of concerts prior to Covid which were very well attended. This one was the first since Covid and was brilliant it just shows People need People - especially people with Dementia, as they can feel not accepted at some events.”
