A match to remember: Lloyd Motor Group raises funds for Cancer Research UK

A special charity football match at Penrith AFC’s Frenchfield Stadium brought colleagues, family and friends together on Saturday 27 June to celebrate the legacy of our founder, Bryan Lloyd, while raising funds for Cancer Research UK. The event was held in his memory, as Lloyd Motor Group celebrates 50 years this year and the business Bryan built.





The match saw two teams made up of colleagues from across Lloyd Motor Group dealerships and friends of Lloyd Motor Group come together for an entertaining match, finishing in a well-earned 3–3 draw.








Off the pitch, the atmosphere was just as memorable, with family, friends and colleagues gathering from 5pm to cheer on the players, enjoy the evening and support the fundraising efforts.






 

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, donated and came along to support the event. Together, we have raised more than £2,500 for Cancer Research UK, with every donation helping to support life-saving research. As Bryan would have said, "GLWD" – Good Lad Well Done (or Good Lass Well Done) – a phrase that anyone who worked with him will remember fondly.
