Lloyd Motor Group Supports the Eden to East Convoy

Lloyd Motor Group are proud to support the Eden to East Convoy, a group of Cumbrian friends travelling to Lublin, Poland, offering aid to those fleeing Ukraine.
 
On Friday 25th March 2022, Lloyd Land Rover Carlisle handed over a 68-plate Land Rover Discovery to Nigel Harling and his team; Anna Rowley, Matt Healey, and Mark Davies. They will embark on their journey to Poland today (28th March) with medical, hygiene and food supplies for the people of Ukraine.

The team were desperate to help the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine that has shocked the world. Nigel said: “We saw some Welsh farmers do a similar thing, and we felt like we all needed to do something to help. We saw the plight and we were moved.”

They have so far raised just over £20,000 through their GoFundMe page, with a goal to reach £25,000. As well as monetary donations, they have also kindly received supplies from local veterinary practices, medical practices and even catering companies.

The upcoming trip will take 24 hours, travelling nearly 1,500 miles in total. Once they arrive at Lublin, they plan to hand over the supplies to Help Ukraine, a charity that will distribute the goods to those in need.

The other half of the Eden to East Convoy team, Paul Rennison, Ewen Estill, Baraby Maurice and Rasmus Henriksen successfully dropped two vans full of donations in Poland last week, using vehicles supplied by the Cumberland and Westmorland Herald and also a trailer from Alan Tuer from Longtown.
