Meet Eleanor, our new Retail Sales Manager at Lloyd Kia Carlisle. 

Eleanor joined Lloyd Motor Group in 2021 as a Sales Executive, based at Lloyd Carlisle BMW. After being in this role for four years, the opportunity came to light for her to switch roles within the group to a whole new brand, with new responsibilities.

We spoke to Eleanor about her journey so far with Lloyd Motor Group and what she’s most looking forward to in her new role…

Hello Eleanor, tell us a bit about yourself.

Originally from Glasgow, I spent 28 years living and working in Dumfries and Galloway before recently relocating to Carlisle. The move was a practical decision, allowing me to remain with my current employer while reducing the challenges of travel and maintaining a better work-life balance. This transition marks a new chapter while still keeping me closely connected to the areas and communities that have shaped my personal and professional life.

How did the opportunity for you to switch roles arise?

I recently met with the Managing Director and Franchise Director to discuss the possibility of a shift in positions. After learning more about the role and its responsibilities, I felt genuinely excited about the opportunity and the potential it holds. Being considered for this position is something I greatly value, and I am enthusiastic about the chance to contribute in a new capacity.

What excites you the most about your new role?

I am really excited to be stepping into my new role as Retail Sales Manager, having progressed from my position as Sales Executive. This transition represents a significant milestone in my career, and I’m looking forward to taking on the added responsibility, supporting my team, and driving continued success. It’s a great opportunity to apply the experience I’ve gained so far while also developing new skills and contributing to the growth of the business in a leadership capacity.

What do you enjoy about working at Lloyd Motor Group?

What I enjoy most about working for Lloyd Motor Group is being part of a genuine family business where people are at the heart of everything we do. There’s a real sense of belonging and teamwork, with a supportive culture that encourages growth, development, and pride in the work we deliver. I value the strong relationships built across the business and the opportunity to contribute to an organisation that combines professionalism with a personal, family-driven ethos.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?

In five years’ time, I see myself thriving in my role as Retail Sales Manager, having helped build a strong, motivated team that consistently delivers excellent results and outstanding customer experiences. I aim to continue developing my leadership skills, taking on new challenges, and contributing to the ongoing growth and success of Lloyd Motor Group. My goal is to be someone who inspires others and plays an active role in shaping the future direction of the team. 

What do you like doing in your spare time? 

In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality moments with my immediate family and our Labrador. We love getting outdoors together, and one of my favourite ways to unwind is by taking Nala for long walks along the beach. It’s a great way to relax, enjoy the fresh air, and spend meaningful time with the people who matter most to me.

The future of automotive is electric, have you considered making the switch?

The future of automotive is undoubtedly electric, and I believe the shift is already well underway. I have personally embraced this change, having driven fully electric company vehicles for almost three years now. The experience has shown me the many benefits of electric driving, from efficiency and performance to sustainability and innovation. It’s an exciting time to be part of an industry that is evolving so quickly.

What’s your favourite Kia?

My favourite Kia has to be the Kia EV6. I really like how it showcases the future of driving with its bold design, impressive range, and advanced technology, all while delivering a smooth and powerful electric performance. It’s practical enough for everyday use yet exciting to drive, making it a perfect balance of innovation, comfort, and sustainability. For me, the EV6 truly represents the next step forward in the automotive world, which is why it stands out as my top choice.
