Mental Health Awareness Week

Company News

Each year, Mental Health Awareness Week is a huge opportunity for the whole of the UK to come together to focus on their mental health and tackle stigma. As we recognise this important week at Lloyd Motor Group, we want to highlight the incredible support available from the automotive charity Ben, as well as Andy’s Man Club talking groups that have been helping men across the UK.

At Lloyd Motor Group, the health and wellbeing of our team are extremely important to us, which is why we’re committed to providing those who need it with the right tools to get the help they need. According to a 2024 Health and Wellbeing survey from the automotive charity Ben, 1 in 4 automotive workers reported issues managing their mental health, which underlines just how important it is that those within our industry are able to find the right support.

Read on to find out more about these important charities and how they can help.

Andy’s Man Club offers free peer-to-peer groups, providing a place for men to come together in a safe and open environment to talk about issues or problems that they have faced or are currently facing. With our workforce being predominantly male, Andy’s Man Club stands out as a resource worth spotlighting, and we're keen to promote the beneficial impact it could have on people within our industry.

Andy’s Man Club has over 190 free support groups nationwide, with one near the majority of our sites. All of their groups meet every Monday at 7pm (except bank holidays), and provide men with a safe space to talk and open up about their experiences in a room free of judgement.

One member of our team who has already attended Andy’s Man Club sessions has praised the format of the meetings, and expressed how helpful it has been for them to attend the sessions and share their experiences with other people within the group. They noted that there is no pressure for attendees to talk during the sessions; if preferred, attendees can come to the groups to listen to other people.

At Lloyd Motor Group, leaflets about Andy’s Man Club will be given out to staff to raise awareness of their talking groups. As well as this, internal communications will be sent out to all team members, to point them in the direction of both Ben and Andy’s Man Club and explain how they can be of benefit to them.
