International Women's Day 2022

Company News

Lloyd Motor Group celebrated International Women's Day 2022 by shining the spotlight on women within the Group.

We raised awareness of the various roles which are occupied by women and we asked some of them what they enjoy most about working at Lloyd Motor Group, along with a “get to know you” question!

From apprenticeships to leading management roles, we are looking to inspire women to meet their full potential, strengthen their careers and #BreakTheBias.

Read what they had to say below!

Emma Lindsay, Group Aftersales Manager

International Women's Day at Lloyd Motor Group

What do you enjoy most about working at Lloyd Motor Group?

I enjoy the people, every site is different and has its own personality which comes across to the customers and makes it a great place to work.

What is your hidden talent?

I have an excellent sense of direction, I have on a number of occasions managed to get myself home or to a location just off my geographical and landmark knowledge. I was going to Edinburgh Zoo and the SAT-NAV took me to the wrong location, but I remembered what the building next to it looked like, spotted it in the distance a mile or so away and knew that’s where we needed to be.

What do you enjoy most about working at Lloyd Motor Group?

I would say the best bit about working for Lloyd Motor Group is the people, everyone is really kind and really friendly and you can always have a bit of a laugh.

If you were famous, what would it be for?

If I was famous I think it would have to be for my cooking! I’m not very good at much but I really love to cook!

What do you enjoy most about working at Lloyd Motor Group?

I love the feel of a local family-owned business, it definitely makes you feel more valued as an employee. As well as it being fast-paced and customer-facing which I enjoy, it is always fun with a lot of laughs amongst the team.

I really like the fact that Lloyd Kia has gone from strength to strength and the company has supported me, this has allowed me to develop in the role which I really enjoy.

If the company had a mascot, what would it be?

Definitely a dog – I think all companies should have a “bring your dog to work day”!

What do you enjoy most about working at Lloyd Motor Group?

I would have to say it’s always been the family feel that comes with working for the Lloyd Group. You are never made to feel like just a number and I think this is really important. I can honestly say I love my job and I enjoy coming to work each day.

What animal would you choose to be and why?

Elephant – I think they are great leaders, have a fantastic memory and are committed to the group, focused and extremely loyal.

What do you enjoy most about working at Lloyd Motor Group?

I like working in a professional environment with great colleagues, whilst developing my knowledge in the brand and working collectively as part of a team to help customers with their needs.

Tell us a fact about yourself that people might not know:

I studied BTEC dance and was a dance teacher and travelled the UK for dance shows.

What do you enjoy most about working at Lloyd Motor Group?

Every day is different, you just do not know who you are going to meet! Over the years I developed some great friendships with my customers, and it’s always a lovely feeling when they return again and again.

What is a unique skill you bring to your job?

Tenacity. As hard as things may get, never stop, always believe you are doing a good job!

What do you enjoy most about working at Lloyd BMW?

What I enjoy most about working at Lloyd is the community atmosphere, it’s a fairly relaxed environment where we all just go about our daily business. I also love the surroundings and the fact our customers are made to feel so comfortable in what is a fabulous showroom.

What class did you take in school that helps with your job?

I have to honestly say I don’t feel any subjects at school helped me in my job. Since leaving school at a young age, I have worked with the public in a sales environment for the biggest part of 35 years and I feel that has served me well in recognising all customers have different wants and needs and that we have to adapt daily in our role. I love my job and don’t know what else I would do or would want to do.
