The motor industry leader, Lloyd Land Rover Ripon, has launched a ground-breaking initiative to support the renowned All Star Football Academy which offers professional coaching to boys and girls from three years old in North Yorkshire.
The aim of the Academy – led by ex-professional footballer Christian Fox – is to bridge the gap between grass roots football clubs and professional academies.
With its ethos based firmly in the heart of the community it serves, Lloyd Land Rover Ripon, as a family-owned dealership, knows the value of developing young people to the best of their ability.
It recognises the importance of providing the younger generation with the skills to show prowess not only in the field of sport but in wider life by equipping them with the ability to reach their full potential through confidence-building.
In the heart of prime Land Rover terrain, Lloyd Land Rover Ripon focuses on providing an exceptional standard of customer service through its approved dealership which takes its clients on an ownership journey second to none.

Its team of highly skilled staff understand their customers and recognise that providing the best for their families is part of that journey.
Under the sponsorship package – to run a minimum of two years – the Lloyd Ripon logo will appear on the Academy shirts. In addition, the Lloyd Land Rover Ripon Cup will be the main prize for young people competing in the Harrogate Schools’ Football tournament this summer.
Set up in 2014 by Christian, who played professionally for York City and now manages Selby Town, The All Star Football Academy runs weekly development coaching for all age groups, school holiday football clubs for children between five and 14 with Rising Stars coaching for three to five-year-olds.

It also offers one-to-one personal football coaching and training for schools and clubs through its work in North Yorkshire.
For David McIntyre, Head of Business with Lloyd Land Rover Ripon, the sponsorship is a natural progression to their work in the community since the dealership was launched in February 2016.

He firmly believes that as one of the area’s premier businesses, it has an important part to play in the wealth and health of North Yorkshire by making the Lloyd name synonymous with good living.
As the father of a 12-year-old son who enjoys the benefits of the Academy, David is keen to see young people developing sporting skills which also shape the whole person.
Apart from the coaching, Christian takes his young rising stars on trips to beach football tournaments and stadium visits. His proteges have also been involved in competitions with junior teams from Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool.

His focus is on developing children as footballers but, also importantly, as people with the firm belief that football has the power to inspire the young to reach their true potential.
He does this by looking at the technical/tactical, physical, psychological and social aspects of the game with all sessions affording the opportunity for the players to get involved in making decisions.

For Christian, the Lloyd Land Rover Ripon sponsorship means he can continue to provide fantastic opportunities and experiences in 2018 with plans in place for games on professional club pitches and more ground tours.

It also enables the All Star Football Academy to provide the best in training equipment and team wear.
Keen to work together with Lloyd in a long-term relationship, Christian believes the dealership’s support will be prominent as the Academy expands in the coming months through its network of franchises.

As part of this he is looking forward to welcoming Lloyd customers and their families to the All Star Academy Family as they work together for the common good of the community and inspire the next generation of children.
The acquisition of the Ripon dealership in 2016 increased Lloyd Motor’s investment in northern England and southern Scotland. With 19 dealerships across Blackpool, Colne, Carlisle, Cockermouth, Kelso, Newcastle and South Lakes, the group now operates an extensive prestige brand portfolio of Jaguar, Land Rover, BMW, MINI, Volvo, Honda, BMW Motorrad and Honda Bikes.

The addition of this business will take the number of Lloyd Land Rover dealerships to three and complements its already established Land Rover dealerships based in Carlisle and Kelso.
Lloyd Motor Group was founded in 1976 and today represents some of the world’s leading prestige manufacturers. The company continues to be owned and managed by the Lloyd family. Together with Lloyd Ltd, they now employ over 1,000 people, all dedicated to providing the unique standards of service and attention-to-detail on which it has built its reputation.
