Lloyd BMW Renew Partnership with 13 Valleys Ultra
Lloyd BMW are thrilled to announce that they have renewed their partnership with 13 Valleys Ultra, an epic ultra-marathon event that takes place within the stunning landscape of the Lake District.
This week, Olivia and Colin from 13 Valleys Ultra collected the all-electric BMW i4 and the BMW iX from Lloyd Cockermouth BMW as part of the press launch for the renewed partnership.
This year taking place from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th of September, the 13 Valleys Ultra event links all thirteen valleys of the Lake District together. The event offers three ultra distances - 55km, 110km and 180km - and a 20km trail distance, which is open to both runners and walkers. Each route offers trail and mountain running over the fells, round the magnificent lakes and waters, and through the Lake District’s valleys. All of the event distances start and finish in Keswick, with regular check points and feed stations along the route.
Lloyd Cockermouth BMW will once again be providing the 13 Valleys Ultra support team with a selection of electric BMW vehicles for the event. The support team, who look after the welfare and safety of the participants, will be using these cars to help runners who do not finish to get back to a feed station, or to the finish at Keswick, where possible.
Lloyd BMW’s support for the event aligns perfectly with BMW UK’s Recharge in Nature project, in partnership with National Parks UK. This project aims to help make the UK’s 15 National Parks even more accessible for electric cars, and also supports nature restoration, biodiversity, sustainability and well-being projects across the UK.
The UK’s National Parks are visited over 100 million times each year and 90 per cent of these visits are made by car. Given the surging popularity of electric cars, pressure on the limited recharging networks in the National Parks is growing. BMW’s Recharge in Nature project is addressing this with the installation of Pod Point recharging posts at pivotal locations across the UK’s National Parks.
