Lloyd Motor Group marketing managers, Rebecca Sharpe and Emily Cunningham, have been announced as winners of the coveted MINI Marketer of the Year award.
MINI recognised its retail talent at the company’s 2017 awards. The 2017 MINI Retailer Awards, which took place on 23rd March, recognised the exceptional results from the dedicated teams and individuals throughout the brand’s 141-outlet UK retail network. The MINI marketer of the year award was presented in recognition of Lloyd MINI’s exceptional marketing activities throughout 2016.
All marketing activities were reviewed and judged on a number of factors including breadth of campaigns, evidence of ROI, creativity and business performance. Understandably delighted by this acknowledgement of their performance, Rebecca Sharpe and Emily Cunningham, MINI Franchise Marketing Managers, commented “Lloyd MINI has enjoyed a fantastic year and this national award is a wonderful endorsement of the team’s hard work. We’re so lucky to work with some incredible motoring brands here at Lloyd Motor Group. Being able to combine our passion for marketing with our passion for the MINI brand is very rewarding.”
2016 saw the launch of the Lloyd Exclusive Black Edition which embraces the unique character and personalisation possibilities at the heart of the MINI brand. This went on to become a staple part of Lloyd MINI’s marketing with a mix of creative assets communicated across a range of innovative digital and traditional media channels.
Speaking at the awards, Chris Brownridge, Director, MINI UK, said: “In 2016 MINI UK’s retailer network delivered the company’s best annual performance since the brand was launched in 2001. I’m delighted to celebrate the achievements of our dedicated retail teams and congratulate each of our deserving winners.”
Gary Bingley, BMW and MINI Franchise Director for Lloyd Motor Group, said: “We really appreciate MINI UK’s recognition of our continuous focus on delivering exceptional performance across all areas of our business. Well-deserved recognition goes to the entire Lloyd MINI team who made this become a reality; a truly collaborative effort from all departments from Marketing to Sales to Service.”
Bryan Lloyd, Managing Director, observed: “We believe that having happy and fulfilled staff who are genuinely proud to represent prestige brands such as MINI makes a real difference to our customers’ experience and this is reflected in our continued success at manufacturer awards throughout the years and hopefully in the years to come.”
Lloyd MINI has six MINI centres which are in Carlisle, Blackpool, Cockermouth, Colne, Newcastle and South Lakes. With retailers representing other leading automotive brands across the North of England and South of Scotland, this family-owned and-run business prides itself on its friendly and professional approach, which has been evident across the organisation since it was founded over four decades ago.
In 2016, MINI UK sold 68,984 vehicles, its best annual sales performance since the brand’s launch in July 2001, representing an 8.5 per cent increase over 2015. MINI significantly outperformed the total new car market which grew by two per cent over the same period. The new MINI Clubman contributed to an 11 per cent growth in the brand’s corporate sales and MINI Convertible was the best-selling convertible in the UK. MINI’s performance brand, John Cooper Works, recorded an 8 per cent increase in sales to 2,386 vehicles.
