Lloyd Motor Group Takes on the Carlisle Half Marathon
On Sunday 22nd March, colleagues from across Lloyd Motor Group will take on the Carlisle Half Marathon, raising vital funds for Cancer Research UK in tribute to our founder, Bryan Lloyd, and in support of everyone whose lives have been touched by cancer.
For our team, this challenge means far more than simply crossing a finish line. It’s a moment to come together, to honour Bryan’s legacy, and to support a cause that affects so many families, friends and colleagues across our communities.
We couldn't be prouder of our colleagues who have signed up for this challenge. Across the group, staff members have been following training plans and putting in the work over the past several weeks to prepare, with many balancing early morning runs and long weekend miles around busy working lives. It's a testament to the dedication and spirit of our colleagues that so many have committed to this, not just as individuals, but as a group — supporting and encouraging one another throughout the whole process. It’s a true reflection of the spirit that runs through Lloyd Motor Group.
On race day, each runner will wear a shirt featuring the Lloyd Motor Group 50th anniversary logo, marking the company’s journey towards celebrating 50 years in 2026. On the back will be a bold 50, representing the milestone ahead. And on the sleeve, a small but meaningful tribute to Bryan: “GLWD.” Anyone who worked with Bryan will recognise those four letters. He would often write “Good lad or Good lass, well done” — to recognise a job well done.
It became a simple but memorable way he showed encouragement and appreciation for everyone around our group. As our colleagues take on the 13.1 miles of the half marathon, GLWD will be running with them, a reminder of Bryan’s support, his belief in people, and the culture he built across the business.
