Meet our Senior Key Account Manager, Emma!
Let’s start at the beginning, tell us a little bit about yourself!
"Before doing a year at a leasing company in Blackburn, I worked at Cumbrian Newspapers for 16 years and my last role was Commercial Lead for the advertising department. I live in Aglionby with my husband and I have two labradors, Roxy and Flynn. I love to travel away as much as possible and really enjoy my busy social life. I am from Cockermouth and moved to Carlisle in 2006".
What drew you to Lloyd Motor Group and your position as Senior Key Account Manager?
"I have known of the business throughout my sales career, the chance to work for another family owned business was the draw, as well as using my current skills and working back in Cumbria".
How long have you been in the role, and what qualities do you believe make a good Senior Key Account Manager?
"I have been with Lloyd Motor Group for 4 years, as I have had various sales and sales management roles. I think there are a few core qualities: Listening to the customer; being enthusiastic and happy when selling; and knowing your product - sales techniques tend to stay the same the same, it’s the product that varies".
What do you love most about your job?
"Of course it goes without saying that working in a local, family owned business is great and they really look after you. Being part of the corporate team and dealing with business customers is another part of the role I enjoy, and finally, there is nothing more exciting than when you get a really big sales order for a customer over the line, a great sales buzz!"
What has been the highlight when working with Lloyd Motor Group?
"It would definitely be starting with a brand that was new to Lloyd Motor Group and going on the journey with the rest of the team to get it to where It is now. When I started as the Business Executive for Kia, it was all new. It was a learning curve, but gradually the orders grew and I gained a whole new range of knowledge and skills around the job".
What is your favourite car out of the Lloyd brands?
"At the moment I really like the Volvo XC60 Ultimate and the Kia EV6 GT Line S".
What do you love about the Kia Brand?
"Kia has a great product for fleet and retail customers. A good price point, a variety of vehicles, but also some strong EVs. For fleet customers they have really good business terms. I must admit the support from the Kia Business Centre is excellent".
What do you love about the Volvo Brand?
"I love the quality and the familiarity of the brand. People buy Volvo for these reasons. They are understated but once you own one you really do love them. A dream to drive".
Do you drive an EV? If so tell us about your experience?
"I have just stepped into an EV and applied for a home charger. To run one as a driver yourself I imagine will be a different experience to jumping in and out of the demos and customer cars. Watch this space!"
