Meet our Group Aftersales Manager, Emma - International Women’s Day 2023

Company News

Wednesday 8th of March marks International Women’s Day 2023! We’re celebrating this important day all week long by shining the spotlight on some of the brilliant women that work across a variety of the departments within Lloyd Motor Group.

To kickstart the week, we caught up with Emma Lindsay, our Group Aftersales Manager for Jaguar Land Rover, Kia, Volvo, Lloyd Used Car Centre and Lloyd AllRoad, to learn more about her career in the Motor Trade, how she progressed to her current role, and the advice she’d give to others looking to become part of the industry.

Can you give us a background on how you started at Lloyd Motor Group and how you worked your way up to where you are today?

“I started at Lloyd Motor Group after relocating to Cumbria as the Group Aftersales Marketing Manager. This role then progressed into managing customer retention for the group, giving me a great insight into all the Aftersales processes across the business. In 2020, the opportunity of Group Aftersales Manager for Jaguar Land Rover, Kia, Volvo, Lloyd Used Car Centre and Lloyd AllRoad became available, which is my current role today. Previously, I had joined the Motor Industry on a graduate scheme, gaining experience in each department of the business, predominantly Aftersales”.

What do you enjoy most about working at Lloyd Motor Group?

“What I enjoy most is that even though we have seen a great expansion over the past 3 years I have been in this role, we are still very much a family business. Each site has such a welcoming feel when you walk into the building, for both customers and staff alike - it is the people that make it such a great place to work”.

What advice would you give to someone who is looking to start their career in the automotive industry?

“We have some amazing brands within our group which focus so much on customer care that you do not need previous automotive experience to be successful. A lot of hospitality and customer service roles have a range of skills that are completely transferable to the roles we have across the group today. Before starting in the Motor Trade, I was a Hotel Receptionist, so I can speak from experience”.

Stay tuned throughout the rest of the week and keep an eye on our socials to meet more of the fantastic women at Lloyd Motor Group!
