Read on to see how Georgina is finding her apprenticeship so far, the skills she's developed and her plans for the future...

What does a typical day in your role look like as an Accounts Assistant Apprentice?

"Day to day, I allocate customer and supplier payments, input sales and purchase ledger invoices, and allocate manufacturer payments and receipts. I also support the Management Accountant with month-end processes, assist with supplier and intercompany payment runs, and ensure the purchase ledger reconciles with supplier statements to enable accurate supplier payments. Every Monday, I attend Carlisle College as part of my apprenticeship to complete the AAT Level 4 qualification. I currently have three exams remaining before completing the qualification."

What made you choose an apprenticeship with Lloyd Motor Group, based at Lloyd Škoda Carlisle?

"I chose to join Lloyd Motor Group, based at Lloyd Škoda Carlisle, because I could see clear opportunities for growth within the company. From the start, everyone was really friendly and supportive, especially when it came to allowing me to complete my Level 4 Apprenticeship, which is a major personal goal for me. That support made Lloyd Motor Group feel like the right place for me."

What do you enjoy most about your apprenticeship?

"The thing I enjoy most about my apprenticeship is becoming more confident in my role over time. I’m so lucky to have such a supportive team around me who are always willing to help, answer questions, and encourage me to progress further."

Can you share a lesson or skill you've learned during your apprenticeship so far that you have found particularly valuable?

"One of the most valuable things I’ve learned during my apprenticeship is how important confidence and organisation are in my role. I’ve become much more confident in handling tasks independently and asking questions if I’m unsure. I’ve also developed strong organisational skills, especially when managing deadlines around month-end and payment runs."

Where do you see yourself after completing your apprenticeship?

"After completing my apprenticeship, I would like to continue to grow within Lloyd Motor Group. I’d like to build on the experience and knowledge I’ve gained, take on more responsibility, and continue developing my skills within the accounts team."

How are you planning to celebrate once those final three exams are done?

"I’m hoping to finish in the summer during my competing season, which means more shows with my horses and plenty of beer garden stops to celebrate along the way."

What’s your favourite Škoda model?

"I think my favourite model would be the Octavia to look at but I’ve only been for a drive in the Škoda Fabia so far."

What’s on your drive-to-work playlist?

"My drive to work playlist is a complete mixed bag totally just depends on how I feel, it ranges from Tate McRea to Arctic Monkeys and has a lot of the 2000s throwbacks."
