R 18 100 Years Competition Winner

Lloyd Motorrad Carlisle are delighted to announce that their customer, Gary Turner, won an R 18 100 Years Edition from BMW Motorrad UK, and collected his prize from the team last week!

To celebrate the huge milestone of 100 years of Motorrad, the BMW R 18 100 Years edition was introduced to the Motorrad family. Limited to 1923 units, it is a model for absolute aficionados that conveys a feeling of nostalgia. Earlier this year, BMW Motorrad UK created the ultimate competition for motorcycle enthusiasts, offering the opportunity for one lucky person to win a brand-new, limited-edition R 18 100 Years.



To be in with a chance of winning, customers just needed to sign up and take a test ride on any R 18 model by the end of August 2023. The prize draw was open across the whole of the UK, and Gary from Wigton was the lucky winner!



When Gary came to collect his prize, he expressed to the team that the novely of winning hadn't quite sunk in yet. The classic cruiser style of the R 18 reminds him of a bike that he rode in his youth, and he's particularly impressed by the fine details, like the BMW Propellor Emblem inside the exhaust, and the black chrome tank, which uses a painting technique especially developed by BMW for this model.

This limited-edition model honours the legendary history of BMW Motorrad, and embraces the spirit of their future. It’s packed with historic details that make it striking, such as the drop-shaped fuel tank with white lines. The unique boxer engine, generous use of chrome and the 100 Years badge top it all off.
