What inspired you to work in the automotive industry?

“I have a real passion for the high-end luxury brands I get to work with every day. It’s not just about the sale; it’s about building relationships and gaining trust that lasts for years. In sales support, I get to carry that forward, treating every customer like they’re part of our extended family, making sure they feel listened to and making the process as easy and stress-free as possible. That’s what inspired me, and Lloyd Select is exactly the kind of place I want to do it.”

In your opinion, what sets the Lloyd Select experience apart from elsewhere?

"We strive to build loyalty, culture and long-term relationships with our customers. It’s a really great place to work, the company is expanding rapidly, it’s extremely interesting and exciting to be a part of, and the fact that Lloyd Group is a family-run business definitely sets our dealership apart from others."

How do you build trust with a customer from the very first interaction?

"I’m the bridge between our customers and sales. First impressions are so important; I aim to make our customers feel seen, heard, and valued. If I can build trust with our customers and make someone’s day that little bit easier, then I’ve done my job! I’ve been told that I make the best cuppa in Newcastle, I think that’s really why our customers keep coming back!"

What do you enjoy most about being part of the Lloyd Select team?

"I really enjoy the camaraderie we share as a team. I have worked with some of the team members for a long time in previous roles, and we all get along well as a team, supporting each other."

What advice would you give to someone buying an approved used vehicle for the first time?

"Don’t always be drawn by the lowest price; look at the condition of the car, look at the level of quality and preparation taken on every Select car, and look at our customer reviews. We will never profess to being the cheapest in the country, our cars are great value, and our customer car is second to none."

How do you ensure every vehicle meets Lloyd Select standards?

"When prospective cars arrive in stock, they are checked by our preparation team before going into the workshop for mechanical appraisal. Any work required is carried out to a high standard and double checked by our sales team before being presented for sale."

Hi Paul, tell us a little about yourself.

"Hi I’m Paul! I'm married with two daughters and we also have two dogs. In my spare time, I’m a big fan of playing darts."

What do you enjoy most about guiding someone through their car-buying journey?

"For me, it’s all about building a genuine relationship with the customer—helping them feel confident that I’m there to support them. Nothing beats seeing their reaction when they drive away in their new car."

If you could take any car on a dream road trip, what would you choose and where would you go?

"It would have to be a drive to Las Vegas in a Sierra RS Cosworth—an absolute dream!"
