After visiting the Lloyd Select Kelso showroom, we caught up with Craig to chat about his recent success on the international stage.
Congratulations on multiple medals! How does it feel to come away with such an incredible result?
"I'm so proud of both the teams I was part of to come away with Gold medals, we worked really hard to make sure we performed at our best on the day. I'm really pleased with my individual performances as I was up against some tough opponents."
What does this achievement mean to you, after all the hard work you’ve put in?
"It means a lot that all of my hard work throughout the year has paid off."
At only 12 years old, you’ve already achieved so much. What originally drew you to taekwondo when you started aged 4?
"I went to a trial class when I was 4 and really enjoyed it. In little tiger cubs we played games while learning the discipline of taekwondo, working towards badges for safety, cognitive skills and things a like. I made a lot of good friends when I started and still train with many of them."
Do you have any role models that inspire you?
"Grand Master Harkess, the founder of UKTC (United Kingdom Taekwon-Do Council) and the President of World ITF Taekwondo is a huge inspiration to me. He trained under General Choi Hong Hi who founded Teakwon-Do in 1955. GM Harkess is very knowledgeable about Taekwon-Do and was an incredible competitior. Bradley Sinden the Olympic medallist is also my role model, who I met at the Bristish Nationals in Sheffield."
How has being a Lloyd Select Kelso sponsored athlete helped you on your journey?
"Being sponsored by Lloyd Select [has] helped towards the cost of attending the WITC European Championships in Holland recently. It also helped with the cost of 1-2-1 sessions with a coach from RAW to prepare me for my debut in world Taekwon-Do. To have the support of a local company means a lot to me, it shows me that there are local people who believe in my potential."

What's next for Craig? He is heading to the Chang Ung Cup on November 2nd in Winshaw, where he'll compete in his final competetion of 2025.
The journey doesn’t stop there, though. Craig will continue to train in preparation for his 2026 competitions, where he hopes to be selected for the Scotland ITF team again and attend the Flanders Field International Competition in Belgium in early February 2026, as well as the British Nationals, usually held in October. He is also looking forward to finding out which competitions he will be eligible to attend for World Taekwon-Do, and to seeing continued improvement in his technique and performance.
From everyone at Lloyd Motor Group we wish Craig all the best in his final competition of 2025 and look forward to following his Taekwon-Do career closely in the coming months and years.
