Meet Rob, Business Specialist at Lloyd BMW Carlisle!
Let’s start at the beginning. Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
“I live and work in Carlisle and have been a member of the Lloyd BMW family for over 8 years. Prior to this I worked within the Bicycle Industry and have always looked at careers within sectors that I am really interested in, giving me lots of enthusiasm and passion in to what I do.
“I first owned a BMW back in 2013 which was a Black 116i, and I really fell in love with the brand. It’s great to come into work every day doing something you love”.
What drew you to Lloyd Motor Group and your position as Business Specialist?
“I didn’t actually apply for this position; it all just kind of happened naturally! A lot of the management team that I currently work with are all into bikes, so when I worked in the bicycle industry, we crossed paths. Now, here I am!
“The Business Specialist role was a natural progression for me, due to my knowledge of the sector and previous accounting knowledge and AAT background”.
How long have you been in the role, and what qualities do you believe make a good Business Specialist?
“I have been in the role for about 12 months now. However, I have been dealing with business customers for over 6 years. I believe my knowledge of the product, taxation benefits and the sales process give me everything I need to know, and give me an edge in this role”.
What do you love most about your job?
“I love the product and meeting new people. However, my absolute favourite thing is handing over a car to someone who is as excited as I am about what they are picking up”.
What has been the highlight when working with Lloyd Motor Group?
“The highlight of my career with Lloyd Motor Group would be the first ever car I sold. I remember it like it was yesterday, a Shakir Orange M5. What a beautiful car that was”.
What is your favourite car?
“BMW i4, I think it is hands down the best car we do”.
What do you love about the BMW Brand?
“There’s just something about the brand that I love – there’s an electricity within the brand that really gives me a buzz”.
Do you drive an EV? If so tell us about your experience?
“I currently drive a BMW i4 M50 and I absolutely love it. I have had 4 i4's now and would definitely have another. My experience of electric cars is brilliant - I love it!”
What are you most looking forward to for the next 12 months?
“I cannot wait to see where the brand is heading in the way of electrification within the BMW M brand. This is going to be a game changer as there is so much untapped potential there - who knows what this will bring!”
