Meet Julie, Our Business Development Manager at Lloyd Carlisle!
Let’s start at the beginning, tell us a little bit about yourself!
"I’m Julie, my busy family life centres around my two daughters and two Labrador crosses, Nia and Nell. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me outside! I run regularly and love to walk with my four-legged girls especially in the Lake District. I’ve recently taken up gardening – although not through choice – as part of the house renovation my husband and I are trying to complete".
What drew you to the Lloyd Motor Group and your position as Business Development Manager?
"Lloyd Motor Group are a well-known family owned business with strong leadership, excellent training opportunities and great rewards. My step into business sales was a logical progression that balances my enjoyment of sales with my family life".
How long have you been in the role, and what qualities do you believe make a good Business Development Manager?
"I’ve spent most of my working life in the motor trade in a variety of roles in finance and sales - the last 15 years with Lloyd MINI and BMW. I’ve recently returned to this role after working with the retail team at Lloyd Carlisle for the last 18 months. A good Business Development Manager needs to have great product and business knowledge. I appreciate business people are busy people, and I try to make the purchase easy from enquiry to delivery".
What do you love most about your job?
"I feel so lucky to sell such a great product in a fantastic environment, with great people and customers. As those who know me will tell you, I do love to talk! Building relationships with local businesses has meant I’ve made some long-term connections and I love catching up with customers and finding out how they are getting on".
What has been the highlight when working with Lloyd Motor Group?
"I’ve made some wonderful friends over the years, there really is a family feel to working for Lloyd Motor Group".
What is your favourite car?
"You can’t beat a MINI JCW, no other small car is built with the same quality and the handling is just the most fun.
If I had the choice, I’d always choose a BMW M3 Touring – such a positive drive and the best looking estate car ever".
What do you love about the BMW Brand?
"The build quality and design just get better and better with every evolution. I love that the technology is so forward thinking but always straightforward to use".
What do you love about the MINI Brand?
"Once you’ve had a MINI you will always want another one - they just get under your skin and the drive will always put a smile on your face. MINI customers are so loyal to the brand and I can absolutely see why".
Do you drive an EV? If so tell us about your experience?
"I drive a BMW 330e hybrid currently. I live close to the centre, so I tend to run it largely on electric.
The charging infrastructure is improving all the time, so running an EV every day is a very real possibility now. Running an electric car can be extremely advantageous from a tax point of view for both your business and personally for the driver".
What are you most looking forward to for the next 12 months?
"I’m looking forward to growing business sales here at Lloyd Carlisle. I’m excited to make new connections and welcome returning customers back again".
