Samuel Browell Named BMW Sales Apprentice of the Year

This week, the BMW Academy Group hosted its prestigious annual Awards ceremony, recognising the outstanding achievements of 144 graduating apprentices from across the network. The event brought together the very best emerging talent within the BMW retailer community for a day of celebration, recognition, and achievement.

Lloyd Motor Group are delighted to announce Samuel Browell, Sales Apprentice at Lloyd BMW North Tyneside, was awarded the prestigious title of BMW Sales Apprentice of the Year 2026. 

A fantastic achievement that reflects his commitment, customer focus, and dedication throughout his apprenticeship. We caught up with Samuel as he reflected on this incredible accomplishment...

Congratulations Sam, how does it feel to be named BMW Sales Apprentice of the Year at the BMW Group Academy Awards 2026?

"I'm very happy to see my hard work and efforts have been recognised by the brand."

What first inspired you to apply for an apprenticeship?

"I always loved BMWs and cars growing up, and as I started working I realised I had good people skills so felt sales would be a good route for me. University wasn't for me, so the apprenticeship was the best option."

What does winning BMW Sales Apprentice of the Year 2026 mean to you personally?

"Winning the award means a lot personally as I put a lot of hard work and determination into the apprenticeship over the last 18 months."

Can you share a moment during your apprenticeship where you felt you really made an impact or achieved something you're proud of?

"I was selected to represent BMW UK at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2024, and being chosen as a brand ambassador was a fantastic experience."

What kind of support from Lloyd BMW North Tyneside or BMW UK has helped you most along the way?

"Throughout my journey I had an overwhelming amount of support from the team at the BMW Academy, but most importantly from day one, Damian, Alan and Philippe from North Tyneside have been the most help with their extensive industry knowledge across all areas."

What advice would you give to someone thinking about a BMW apprenticeship or a career in the motor trade?

"My advice would be to never hold back and just go for it. I applied for countless sales roles and got turned down but I found the apprenticeship and never looked back. The motor trade is a great industry to meet so many different people and learn so many skills."

And finally… how did you celebrate this incredible achievement?

"I was lucky enough to be celebrating with a long weekend in Barcelona with my girlfriend, which she had already booked, so the timing was perfect!"
