Meet Jordan - Trainee Service Advisor at Lloyd Blackpool.

From starting with Lloyd as a Valeter to learning a new trade of Trainee Service Advisor, Jordan knows that customer experiences are the highest priority for Lloyd BMW.

Could you tell us a bit about your background and how you came to join Lloyd BMW Blackpool?

"I originally joined Lloyd BMW Blackpool as a valeter, and from day one, I knew it was a place where I could grow. I’ve always had a passion for cars and delivering great service, so being part of a premium brand like BMW really appealed to me. Over time, I became more interested in the service side of the business, and with the encouragement of the team, I took the leap into a trainee service advisor role. It’s been an exciting step forward in my career."

What kind of support or training did you receive to help with your transition into the new role?

"The support has been fantastic. I’ve had hands-on training from experienced advisors, shadowing them and learning the ins and outs of the role. I’ve also been supported with BMW-specific training to help me understand the systems, processes, and most importantly, the customer expectations that come with representing a premium brand. Everyone’s been really patient and encouraging, which has made the transition a lot smoother. I have also successfully passed Service advisor training at our head office Carlisle with Alan McNutt Associates."

What do you enjoy most about working at Lloyd BMW Blackpool?

"Definitely the people. There’s a real team spirit here, and everyone wants each other to do well. I also enjoy the variety — every day brings a new challenge and new customers to look after. It’s a fast-paced environment, but there’s a real sense of pride in what we do, especially when you see a happy customer drive away."

What does customer satisfaction mean to you, particularly when representing a premium brand like BMW?

"Customer satisfaction is everything. When someone chooses BMW, they are not just buying a car — they’re buying into a premium experience. That means we have to deliver at every touchpoint, especially in service. It’s about being professional, approachable, and making sure every customer feels valued and looked after. Even small details can make a big difference."

Can you share a recent experience where you felt you made a real difference to a customer?

"Not long ago, I helped a customer who was quite stressed about a warning light on their dash. I took the time to listen, reassured them, and arranged for the car to be looked at that same day. Even though I’m still learning, just being proactive and communicating clearly made them feel looked after. They left a lovely comment with reception, which meant a lot to me — it showed that even small actions can leave a lasting impression."

What advice would you give to someone looking to grow their career within the motor trade?

"Say yes to opportunities and be willing to learn. You don’t need to know everything on day one — what matters is your attitude and willingness to improve. Also, never underestimate the value of good people skills. Whether you're in valeting, service, or sales, how you interact with customers and colleagues can really shape your career path."

What are you most looking forward to in your new role over the next 12 months?

"I’m looking forward to becoming more confident and independent in the role. I want to build strong relationships with customers and be someone they trust with their vehicle needs. I’m also excited to continue learning from the team and hopefully contribute more to the department as I grow. It's a great feeling knowing there's a clear path ahead of me."
