Can you tell us about your career journey with us, from where you started to how you got to where you are today?

I started with Lloyd Motor Group as a Receptionist at BMW Carlisle. From there, I moved into a customer retention role before progressing into Aftersales as a Service Advisor, and more recently into my current position as Senior Service Advisor. The Group has always been really supportive whenever I’ve wanted to take the next step and develop into a new role. Looking back over the last 10 years, it’s lovely to see how much I’ve progressed since first joining the business.

Talk us through a typical day in your role.

My role is all about looking after our customers when their cars are booked in for servicing or repairs. We welcome them into the business, make sure we fully understand what their car is with us for, and then liaise with our technicians throughout the day to keep everything running smoothly and our customers updated. Aftersales can sometimes involve delivering unexpected or difficult news, particularly when repairs are needed. That can be challenging, but I take a lot of pride in making sure our customers still have the best experience possible, regardless of the situation.

What do you enjoy most about working for Lloyd Motor Group?

Definitely the people. Over the last 10 years, I’ve made some friends for life through working for the Group – including meeting my husband! We also have some amazing customers, and I really enjoy getting to know people and building relationships with them. For me, the people I work with and the customers I look after are what make the job enjoyable.

What achievement are you most proud of over the past 10 years? Is there a particular highlight?

Moving into my Senior Service Advisor role was a really proud moment for me and felt like recognition of how much I had developed over the years. Reaching 10 years with Lloyd Motor Group is also an achievement in itself. I genuinely can’t believe how quickly it has gone! I’ve had so many great experiences and met so many brilliant people along the way.

Is there any advice you’d give to someone just starting out in the Motor Trade?

The motor trade is a brilliant place to meet people, build a career and learn how to look after customers properly. Aftersales in particular teaches you a huge amount about customer service. Turning an unexpected repair or an expensive bill into a positive customer experience isn’t always easy, but learning how to handle those situations gives you skills that you can take anywhere. My advice would be to embrace the opportunities that come your way, get to know people and never stop learning.

Which vehicle launch or moment over the past 10 years stands out as a personal or professional highlight for you?

I’ve owned two MINIs and still drive one today, so MINI has always been a special brand for me. My current car is a John Cooper Works MINI Clubman, which I absolutely love. I’m just disappointed they don’t make them anymore – I’ll have to look after this one!

As the company heads towards the next 50 years, what excites you most about being part of that journey?

Seeing the people around me develop and progress in their own careers is really rewarding. There are people I’ve worked alongside for years who have grown into new roles, and it’s lovely to see. You can also see the ambition Lloyd Motor Group has to continue growing while developing its people along the way. Whether you’re brand new to the business or have been here for 10 years, being part of that growth and having the opportunity to develop personally is really exciting.

And finally, what’s your dream car and what’s the dream road trip you’re taking it on?

I was actually lucky enough to go on my dream road trip in April this year. My husband and I travelled through Texas, Louisiana and Florida, getting married in New Orleans along the way. It was a once-in-a-lifetime trip and something I’ll always remember. The only thing I’d change would be having my MINI Clubman there to do the driving!

On behalf of the Lloyd Motor Group team, we would like to congratulate Annabelle on her incredible milestone and thank her for her unwavering commitment.
